I think I'm going to level SAM to 40ish then go back to WAR to level him up. I only have MNK at 20 and don't really feel like leveling it up for WAR, and my understanding is it stops being that great of a WAR sub pretty soon anyway.
I enjoyed SAM enough, and it'll be fun to fiddle with all the new fields of valor stuff, lets see if I can skip Valk entirely! (well in a party anyway)
My previous plan was to work on PLD and use WAR to sub for it but eh. I'll keep that jobs gear so if I'm bored I can work on it but I don't think it's really what I want to worry about atm. WAR was always enjoyable enough to me. Why rock the boat? Also I can always swap to SAM to level it instead of WAR.
EDIT: Yay figured out how to set up the mail filter finally. It would have just been nice to have an option to disable my mail entirely. Now i don't accept any mail from any address except one that I know doesn't exist. I got 27 spam e-mails on my POL account in an hour last night.
Sam is a great 75 job it also works good as a war sub if you're using 2 handers but really you're going to need /nin for war eventually, there's just no beating shadows
Made it from 7-14 last night very smoothly. Enemies that were EP or DC gave me consistently 70-100 xp, add in the fields of valor and it was good going. And it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I'll be able to skip valk for sure with little effort. Hopefully and beyond.
Also, while you might get into a valk group that manages to get 250+xp per kill/chain, more often than not that isn't the case (in my experience), being able to consistently get ~100 xp per kill with no down time to speak of and no standing around hoping for a party is very very very nice. I should probably put my flag up anyway just in case a good party comes along, but it's going so smoothly solo that it is hard to justify to myself at this point.
I've got a family thing this evening Bri, but if you're on late maybe we can hook up for the AF axe, if not I should be around most of tomorrow after church if you are. No pressure if you don't feel like it, I'm focusing on SAM atm anyway.

So how many people here are going to get into FFXIV when it comes out? Me and my bro tried FFXI at separate times and I found it to be boring and confusing, though my bro liked it cause of the music....then I lured him into WoW.

I R Dumb. What a great video though. I've never seen footage of the Treasures expansion, some of those jobs seem somewhat misplaced tho. Glad they included server selection.
Just putting this out there, DAMN I hate the Zvahl Coffer Key. Nobody in my linkshell seems to have the time or ability to help me with it, and I sure as hell can't solo farm that at PLD60... sigh.

EDIT: The giant ledge in North Gustaberg is retarded and makes getting around annoying as hell. It's pretty silly to have to go out South Gustaberg and all the flipping way around just to get to Konschtat.
EDIT2: I see there is a quest you can do in the past to let you go up/down the falls in the present.

I'm pretty sure it does not, which makes it slower than going around on your choco if you're going to town I believe.

SE says they're in talks with Microsoft for a 360 version, but Live is causing issues; much as it did with XI. Microsoft made some massive concessions to SE to get XI on the 360 at launch.
