Also, how do these people get such high scores? The only way I can even see them getting such fast and accurate answers is that they're just randomly picking answers and getting lucky.
Arg, I was in the mob the last game... got all my questions right too, but then she took the money when the time ran out. I was so hoping she'd do the one more question, and it would be really really hard.

From a 1 standpoint, she did the right thing. I still hate her.

Seems like more and more often, the One is taking the money and running compared to the early days with prizes.
I don't get some of the stuff in this game..
For example, if I know the answer, and X and A aren't the correct answer I will mash the crap out of the B button before B even shows, yet somehow I will only get 180 for the speed score.
Then another time I will actually get to read the X answer, answer it, and somehow get 200 points when no way I should have.
Also, how come sometimes someone gets a 150 score for speed, and it is considered instant answer, then the next time I could get 165 for speed, and it isn't considered instant answer?
Speed relative to the other 3 fellows in your group?

Is there something special you have to do or enable to make yourself eligible to be the one or in the mob? Because all the times I've played so far, I have yet to get into it, and neither have any of the people in my lobby I've played against. Do you have to have above a certain lifetime score or something, or is it just completely random and I haven't gotten lucky yet?
Basically, answer correctly and as fast as you can. Then they 'throw everybody's names in a hopper' (my wording) and draw from that. Supposedly each week the criteria is reset so exactly what it will be can't be predicted. It's likely why so many just spam the answer button as quickly as possible. Both to get their name on the 'fasted' page and to eventually be slotted to be on the show.
Also, I believe you have to be set to 'Public' in your 1vs100 settings or everything else won't matter.
I was first in Extended Play last night for about half the game, which made me feel pretty damn awesome. I ended a couple of thousand points behind, but still. My guy was in the spotlight!

Yeah, that's impressive. I just played EP for the first time and I did good for the first 10 questions, then stumbled and promptly got my ass kicked. You have to perfect at all times to win that.
Man the game is still messed up...first time I've seen a One disconnect. Then it disconnected a ton of us, I came back and the next One knocked out every mob member except 2 due to disconnects!

I finally made it to the mob. Unfortunately, I haven't watched an episode of Saturday Night Live in a long time, so I guessed Andy Samberg was the head writer.
I missed out on getting A Kingdom for Keflings, but on the plus side I haven't watched an episode of Saturday Night Live in a long time.
I actually got that one correct but it was mainly a guess.
I had no idea, I just went with the dick in a box guy. The one left with the money (>30 people went out on that question), so I wouldn't have won anyway.
e: also, Seth Meyers has never been funny, why did they make him head writer? Maybe this is why I don't watch the show.

Because he's a writer, not a performer. People aren't just funny or not funny, some people are better at doing shit than coming up with it, and vice versa. I would call Tina Fey a massively talented comedic performer, but she writes some funny shit, same deal. Last night's question about which SNL alum was not an original cast member, I KNEW would murder. Even my wife was yelling at me that it couldn't POSSIBLY be Bill Murray, why didn't I pick Chevy Chase?

Plus, the worst questions are the one you know the answer to, but you still don't know exactly what kind of answer they're looking for until the answers pop up. A fun way to lose the speed bonus is because the first answer is correct, but you were thinking of a different description of the same thing...

That's not quite as bad as the ones where the second choice is a misspelling, and the third choice ends up being the right answer.
