So there will be a complete wipe after this beta phase? In that case I'll be starting on IAH as well, they're hitting pre- Open Beta tomorrow. Best thing:
    # There will be no data-wipe or service disruption between Pre-OBT and Commercial Launch.

It's the international version, we played it during closed beta and experienced no lag.

Or do you mean that you don't want to play with Filipinos?

I'll be playing on IAH, mainly because I'm a filipino. Which means access to the cash shop, thus SHINIES.

Ooooooh, I saw sarcasm where there was none.

I'll be on the fence a little longer, at least until I get to try the IAH version again and compare the two.

okay, thanks. I had thought I'd seen them there, but apparently when you do that map (it's the 2-star one, btw) you randomly get a map that has either Greenies or Blossoms in it, so I kept getting the wrong one and was pulling my hair out.

so here's a new one then - where do I find Uproots? I see one occasionally in my wanderings, but never with any reliability.

Not completely. Ones that give you gear are useful, and one of the quests, which is a chain, gives you your Level 10 set helm.

I'm bored. I want to play! But I can't get an activation key through FilePlanet for some reason, I'm signed in, I follow the link, I type in the little verification code, and then it just goes to some page with free-to-play games that has nothing to do with Dragonica.

IAH's Open Beta starts Thursday afternoon; there will be no character wipes on that one and it's fairly easy to make an account there: http://dragonica.iahgames.com/

IAH version will go live any moment now. People who already had an account just received an e-mail, but their servers are still down. There was a big patch, also. I will update the OP to reflect this fact.

I won't be playing the THQ version for a while at any rate, as much as the starting areas are, after running through the tutorial 5 times (once with every character and twice with a mage) I am ready to charge on and get to lev 20

For those playing on the IAH server, there's currently 2 servers and a shitton of channels. The first server (i forgot the name) has more channels than the 2nd. Sooo, I'm guessing if PA does migrate to IAH, we using the first?

EDIT: Servers are currently under maintenance. 30 minutes and ticking.

We're using the first, I wrote that in the OP as well to reflect that.

How does selecting a different channel than a friend affect play? Say I want to group with one of you fine fellows and we're on separate channels would we be able to? I assume guild chat traverses across all the channels?

Your characters are bound to a server, each channel is kind of like an instance of that server. So if you're on Server A channel 1 you won't see anyone from channel 2, but you can hit Esc, change your channel and then play with them, being unable to see anyone from channel 1 now.

But how does that work with parties? Can I invite someone from channel 1 while I'm on channel 2 and when I jump in the mission map we both get whisked to there?

    Dunno.

Doubt it. But guilds/friends (I would hope) persist between channels, and changing channels shouldn't take longer than a few seconds so it won't be too hard to co-ordinate.

Think of being in Channel 1 and Channel 2 as being in the same dungeon but being separate.

Obviously you can't team up while you're in the wrong dungeon instance, but guild chat and such still work because you're on the same server.

Channels are just instances of the entire world.

Are we switching over to IAH officially? I'll give my mage another run and help get a guild up again.

I'm level 24 battlemage at the moment. Oh god help me.
