[Mini Phalla] - Calculadonia: Game Over House Dolphin/Falcon Win

Lady EriLady Eri Registered User regular
edited June 2009 in Critical Failures
Days Will End on 9pm Pacific, 12 Midnight EST.

I've begun work on an animated and more intricate version of this mini-Phalla. Set to premier September 2010. However, I thought this would be a good way to test the game.

Narration Day One

Objective
Calculadon plays a little different then other Phallas. In this mini-version there are six teams of five. Everyone starts off in the dark, unmasoned. A team is eliminated once all of it's members are dead. The objective is to be one of the last two teams remaining.

Mechanics
The game centers around the equation. Every night the Wheel of Calculadon (actually two wheels, an inner and an outer) are spun to create the equation. The equation adds up to a number. If this is your number, you die. The wheel's movements are controlled by the six team leaders, who may each move the inner and outer wheel up to a total of five slots (between the two, so 3 slots left for the outer wheel, and 2 right for the inner wheel). Each team leader will only be able to move the wheel based on how many team members are still alive, so while they start with five, their ability will dwindle as their team is killed off. An additional slot movement will be voted on by everyone in the thread, in red. The options for vote will be !outer left, !outer right, !inner left, !inner right, !still (no movement.) While each player will start off knowing the number that will kill them personally, they also have to worry about a team number. If their team number comes up, everyone on the team dies. Each of the five members of the team, including the two specials in each team, will know the team number of a rival team. No one on any given team will know their team's number. Alliances and trust will be imperative. Only two teams can win.

If a person has already been killed by the equation, or is killed by a vigilante, and their number comes up, then a random number will be chosen (team numbers included), and that team or person will die. At the end of each night's narration, the new position of the wheel will be seen by all.

First day will probably end on Monday night. Please use this time yo request clarifications. I will be posting the wheel shortly.

Standard rules about anonymous communications apply. To prevent hypocrisy, screenshots are okay. This is obviously a game of alliance, cloak, and dagger. Everyone has a piece of the puzzle, and must work with others in the thread to find and forge a trustworthy alliance. Six team enters, only two teams will leave. The wheel posted shortly.

Teams

5 members in each team, that includes the leader and uniter.

Falcons
Serpents
Dolphins
Foxes
Spiders
Wolves

The Wheel of Calculadon

caclartcopy.jpg

Equations will be calculated along the center cross hatch from left to right (we will not be using standard order, we go left from right.) In this example the wheel is set on 38+4, multiplied by 3, then subtract 1. So the game will be starting on unlucky Mr. 125. I hope for your sake 125, that someone decides to move one of the wheels before the end of day one.

This is going to be either really terrible or really good. Best to try it with 6 teams and 30 people instead of 8 teams and 80 people though.

    Nothing.

    Or.

    Everything.

Most will pick the first, then later, when feeling threatened by three PMs disclose the names of those who have contacted them, provoking their own deaths.

    Can specials vote?

    Numerology, this Phalla, and you:

The Dyad, Two, symbolising perceptible reality. Without the two specials this game would

The Pentad, Five, was symbolic of life, power, and invulnerability, it was used as a identifying symbol by the Pythagoreans.

The Decad, Ten was a symbol of completion. The best of all things. If two teams of ten win, they have accomplished the impossible.

So... let me see if I've got the wheel mechanic straight. The wheel will look something like this:

    calculadoniawheel.gif

Each combination of inner and outer wheel number corresponds to either a specific player or an entire team. The player or team that is designated at the top of the wheel at the end of a day is eliminated from the game. Team leaders can move the inner and outer wheels a total number of spaces up to the number of players left in their team. The village as a whole also gets a vote to decide whether to move the inner or outer wheel one space in either direction (or keep the wheel in its place).

I know all the detail rules aren't up yet, but I hope you don't mind a few clarification questions...

    1. Does each player know their own roulette kill number?

    2. Verify: Each player knows the roulette number to kill one other team.

    3. Will the roulette's position be publicly known each day?

    4. If the roulette hits someone that has already been killed, does the roulette kill randomize, like if a number appears a second time in a game?

    5. Does the wheel's position randomize, in the case of a randomized roulette kill?

    Yes to all of these.

On #5, after it is randomized the wheel's new positions will be seen in the narration so that everyone alive in the next round knows where its coming from.

Assuming a univers of discourse F={all forum members}, then set P is made up of players {P1-Pn}, each of which are playing the Calculadonia mini phalla. Let us create a secondary set, R, which shall be made up of forum members that would like to play, but are terrified of commitment, and so prefer to reserve up if needed. I would be wholly in set R, and not a member of set P. It is possible that members of Set R will become members of Set P. However, that point has not yet arrived, and therefore, quat erat demonstrandum, I am asking to be in the reserves.
