Trying to remember the name of a famous serial killer

I wanna say it was in New Orleans around 1900ish

A crazy guy(guys? Guy and girl? Don't remember) who turned their home into a maze or somesuch. Almost like out of a Saw movie. Yay for details.

According to google apparently the only serial killer of note ever in NO was an axeman. Looking to scare an easily scared friend of mine with scarrrry stories.

    Hmm... it sounds like your referring to H.H. Holmes, but he was in Chicago, not New Orleans.

    Yep, that sounds like H.H. Holmes. Converted a hotel he owned into a labyrinth of terror and dismay.

    Good thing I refreshed before posting, I see others gave you the same suggestion of HH Holmes. I'm guessing this has got to be it.
