Broken Graphire

I was using my Graphire 3, which I don't use a lot, and windows made that sound that indicates a USB device has been unplugged, and my Graphire stopped working, even though the cord was in the USB port securely. It would keep making the plug in unplug sounds at intervals of about 7 seconds, and I tried all my USB ports and they all did the same thing. Is this a known issue for the Graphire that I can fix or is it fried? I restarted and installed current drivers but it didn't do anything, and my webcam still works so I know it isn't the ports. Any help would be awesomely appreciated.

I actually ran the pen underwater once to clean it in a complete momentary lapse of rational judgment, which I think destroyed the eraser portion of the pen :| But other than that this thing has been gathering dust, but it was always in good condition.

You can call Wacom. They are great about these things. If it's fixable, they'll fix it. If it's not, they'll give you a discount on a new one.

It's been over the one year warranty and I don't have any photocopies of receipts for it's purchase or anything, do you think that will still work?

That happened to me once and re-installing all the drivers and stuff did the trick. Maybe it will work for you. Make sure you have the most up to date ones, if you decide to give this a go.

the won't fix it for free, but if it's not worth fixing... they'll give you a discount on buying a new one from them.
