The only "callsign" I've ever had in a game was a friend jokingly calling me "Splash" for annoyingly frequent over-water bail-outs in MS Combat Flight Sim Pacific Theater. Well, originally it was Splashdown, but apparently two syllables is too long for him.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
The only reason I don't like people saying "repeat that" is that negative copy is so much cooler sounding.
Negative copy 2sexromeo, go again
IIRC "Repeat" is for Arty guys to fire again on the last position they just fired on.
We always use "Say again?".
Also, negative copy isn't proper radio etiquette either. You should say either "TwoSexRomeo this is [your callsign] I didn't receive your last your last transmission, say again over." You can also add "broken and/or distorted" depending on the quality of comms.
Do you know how to call for fire? If anyone knows how to call and adjust fire (at the bare minimum they have to be familiar with bracketing) they should help me form a scout team. It would help if that person was sniper too.

our game on that Silent Warrior server was pretty fun, until someone was able to keep spawn killing our team over and over. but before that, we successfully cleared 2 towns and operated pretty good as a unit.

God yes. That was awesome. Spotting units for you guys and then engaging them felt so fucking awesome.

At least I didn't kill any of OUR guys. That's what's important, right?

Bracket for line, bracket for depth front and back.

Rounds complete, enemy infantry killed, end fire mission, out.
**EDIT** Real fire missions are fast and furious and done by FO's who know their shit in their sleep. The above was from an infantry perspective and usually only when there's no FO around, or they got tagged. Also, it's probably sloppy as hell but you get the general idea.
From an ARMA standpoint, you could probably just get away with "reference west edge of village, drop rounds 100m north of marker" -OR- just mark the point on the map.

And yes we did have one "situation" in which the (at this point) infamously retarded Matt(2) became erratic and started firing widly toward our patrol. We had to put him down. There was no other way.
That was some pretty awesome shananigans. Just in case the general population is wondering: we have the capability to have some semi-serious fun with this game. There was 5 of us at one point and we fairly rocked those poor russkies.
Also, I am too quiet on the comms, this is probably because I'm normally way off in the hills listening to the rest of the guys call out targets and piggybacking the action with my rifle. It's kinda funny, we touch down and everyone makes their way forward, with one guy b-lining his was to the nearest high feature.

Yeah most of what I know about calling for for fire I learned as an RTO and during EIB. I am by no means an expert, but I confident enough that I can do it on the fly. The bracketing I was talking about was this.
I'm mainly concerned with doing polar fire missions and designating targets for CAS. I'm just looking for someone who won't drop rounds on us. Do you want to form a scout team when Arma 2 comes out?

Should we ask? or just come up with our own?
Well, I lack any sort of wit whatsoever, so anything I come up with would pale in comparison to the gems already produced.
Well, wit, and any bit of knowledge on military terms
Instead of shooting where I was, you should have shot where I was going to be.

Seriously I'm not hating. I don't know how many times engineers found IEDs while were on our way to the objective.

Ah, okay. Route recon is long and tedious with a high probability of death, so I thought you were being an ass. :P
