1680x1050 (100% fill) and i think at this point i have everything on high except shadows on low, and post processing off. haven't noticed much performance loss form normal->high.

As discovered by Stormgale, map markers appear for people based on the chat channel you currently have selected, so if you're in group chat only people in your immediate group will see the marker. If you're in vehicle chat only people in the same vehicle as you (if you're in one at all) will see the. In order for everyone to see your map marker you MUST be in side or global chat.
Vet of Arma 1, High Caliber, recently informed us that when you double click to place a marker you can use the up and down arrows to change what kind of marker you place before pressing "enter" once you fill in your text.

Demo doesn't seem to run as well as ARMA 1.16 beta patch, yeah there are a few new effects but I thought the game was supposed to be much more optimized?

Wouldn't X360/PS2 controllers work great as flying sticks? I mean, you'd have 2 sticks which would greatly help, I believe.
I'd love to try, unfortunately whenever I have my 360 controller and headset plugged in at the same time my headset audio is extremely staticy. Never understood why.

Edit: Some are using in-game chat, and some are using vent. I just keep vent open and resort to typing. Can't use the mic while it's too hot to close my room door, and can't use the mic once people are asleep.

The first time I tried to fly with my keyboard and mouse I somehow turned upside down. Apparently when your helicopter goes upside down it explodes. I'll give my 360 pad a try and maybe I'll actually be able to complete the boot camp mission, I wish my joystick didn't decide to suddenly die:(.
i highly recommend practicing to fly the helicopter offline (rather than crashing our shit) and using the 3rd person view (enter key on the numpad). this really allows you to see how the helicopter responds to your input. once i did this i was able to very easily fly fast at low altitude and adjust my height for obstacles etc. i think once you're comfortable like that, switch to cockpit view only cause on some servers you can't use 3rd person.

I found it pretty easy when I just stopped using the mouse and stuck with the keys.
It was a fun few hours flying the Super Huey with you guys. Sorry about launching rockets from the Super Huey and hitting someone in the face when I was trying to hit the radio towers.
Nice shot, I find that once you get used to judging your elevation in relation to the target, long shots become quite a bit easier.
Helps to watch splash too, since the AI doesn't make a run for it a lot of the time.
Hitting a shot like that with SD ammo is almost like indirect fire , and it takes like 4 or 5 rounds to kill a dude, unless you get a lucky header in.
I almost felt murderous the other day. Some poor bastard AI driver was in his vehicle behind bullet resistant glass, and just stared impassively at me as I needed 2 full clips of 9mm SD to punch the windshield out from about 6 feet away.
I got the 4890 and my performance is not that great. I don't think the game stresses the GPU as much as it does processor or ram
Interesting, since my cpu is decent. I wonder if a vid card upgrade would relieve a bottleneck? I haven't done much benching. What cpu/ram do you have? Anyone else feel like chiming in?
Sharp LC32GP1U - got one from newegg like 6mos ago for around $600 with free shipping. I highly recommend the hugeness! Sharp's quality is high as well. Not to mention you can watch TV and play console games at 1080p on it as well. Our computer room has a couch so you can watch movies, etc. Best splurge purchase ever! Though I suppose that spot could be taken by a trackIR =p
We finally cleared that fucking airfield. That ambush we set up with sniper rifles was pretty nice - sneaking in behind their infantry, taking cover inside a hanger, marking our targets and then letting the bullets rip. They didn't know what hit them. Good times.

The convoy ambush was good times. I still say we should have dive bombed them with a helicopter, though. That would have definitely worked.
If you got a Ural carrying troops you can kill the driver and if you are quick spary tons of rounds in to the back where the troops are, killing them all before they even get out of the truck.
It is surprisingly disturbing to me.

I would guess zero'd for 300m, then 100m for each dot.
At noon I was playing sniper on PA Joe. Making shots like that is so tremendous. I got one like that, closer but the guy was running.
