Maybe quick question problems loading webpage

Quick question really, and quite simple symptoms.

Open up firefox, or any browser for that matter.

Type google.com or whatever site, any site, doesnt matter.

Status bar will hang on 'waiting for <website>' status. This lasts indefinetly.

When I hit refresh or reload or f5 the page loads instantly. There is no lag in online games, there is no problems connecting to Xbox live.

This happens for all computers on the network.

All connect to a wireless router, D-Link G604T. All have Windows XP blah blah just the usual setup.

Pages wont load unless I wait a while and hit refresh. It's really annoying. Happens pretty much all the time for any webpage at all. I have cleared my cache, cleared cookies and tried multiple browsers on multiple PCs to no luck.

any ideas on what is going on? Only seems to have started happening recently, like today, and no settings have been changed to my knowledge. Could it be the ISP?

Another sideeffect is linked images on a page from other sites. So for example on the PA frontpage it will load the text and all image files from penny arcade, but the ads, and any offsite linked images do not load. For example, I am reading these forums noone has any sigs or avs because they are not loading, just as webpages dont.

I had similar things happen when my ISP had some problems with DNS servers. You can easily rule out the router by plugging one of the computers directly to the internet, which might be useful when reporting the problem to the ISP.
