I'm not sure where else to go from here, so I figured I'd post here for some advice on what else to do. Here is a copy of the post I put on my the xbox forums after the abysmal customer service I received from whichever country the main phone number connects me to.
"I am looking for any help I can possibly get on this matter, and hopefully someone here will have a solution for me or someone from XBox technical support will read this and contact me.
"I purchased a new Elite system last Thursday as a means to upgrade my HDD and to an HDMI system. I have an old console that was a repaired system from a launch console I had that MS replaced due to the RRoD problem. After getting the system home and set up, I recovered my profile on my new system and registered the new system on xbox.com. I then proceeded to try to transfer my licenses from my old system to my new system using the License Transfer Tool. I went through the steps online and the licenses weren't transferred and were (still are) associated with my old system. I then tried redownloading a couple of arcade titles only to discover they are only accessible while connected to Live. This poses a problem as I'm not always connected to Live and want constant access to my purchased content as the License Agreement said I should have.
"I contacted customer service last Thursday to be told by a supervisor by the name of Joseph that he'd look into this issue and call me back within 3 to 5 days. I then called back today to check on the status of this repair, and after being bounced around at first, I'm connected to someone who tells me I've had too many transfers before and that's why the licenses didn't transfer. When asked when they showed my last transfer, I was informed there were no logs kept for transfer status and he had no clue. I escalated this to his supervisor, Mike, who informed me people transfer licenses from one console onto the same console all the time and there was nothing that could be done. Despite informing him repeatedly I want my content transferred to my new system from my old system and this was a problem with something going wrong on their end, he tells me this was the way the system was supposed to work.
"Has anyone else in the community had similar problems that know who to contact to have this issue solved? I went through a similar problem with the old system when it was replaced and it took eight months of calling customer support, a case with the BBB, and emails directly to Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer to get my issue solved for the transfer of my licenses from the broken console to the repaired console. That transfer took place April 23, 2008, and I have all that contact still saved if anyone involved at MS needs it for any reason.
"Should a customer service rep read this and know how to help, all my contact information related to my profile is accurate."
I'm really not sure whether to just file something with my state's Attorney General or wait a bit longer. Has anyone else here had any success fighting the DRM battle with the xbox customer support and what did you do?
