Really? Most of the PA TF2 crowd seems either pretty chill or pretty silent.
There were a couple people on one game I was on today who were telling the snipers on our team to switch to the rifle if they couldn't counter-snipe with the bow. That pissed me off a little bit.
"That makes sense! Fuck my enjoyment of the game, I'll just start up Flippy_D's Point and Click Adventure so you can win the video game. Thanks for letting me know what a dick I'm being by not bringing my A game to a casual server."
Counter-Sniper? Fuck that, the best sniper counter is going scout and bonking the shit out of them. Its also a good stress reliever.
Aside from people who bitch non-stop I can't think of anything that would justify being upset at the people on PA servers, and really that's just annoying more than upsetting. I've certainly never quit over anything other players have done.. aside from like voting for granary.

yes, things are so much more fun for everyone when half of your team are bow snipers doing exactly dick-all useful and another quarter are spies trying to figure out how to actually play as spy and you just get raped round after round. But sorry, your enjoyment is the most important, not the entire team's.
Going with the rifle just to be a little better at counter-sniping is pretty dumb. If you're any good with the bow, you're going to be ravaging their front lines, not getting into stand-offs with one other player. You don't want to give that up to focus on one enemy, especially since you should be getting scouts, spies, and pyros out there to harass him anyway.
Edit: And if you're not any good with the bow, you're probably not very good with the rifle either, so you might as well stick with something slightly useful/fun instead of being cannon fodder for the other sniper.
If nobody else is taking it srsly then it's your fault for trying to. The PA servers provide a good mix of heated matches, complete idiocy, and occasional steamrolls. If you happen to get one you don't want that's life.
If you're convinced you have to win to have fun when you have 4 spies and 5 snipers on your team then the problem lies with you, sir.

"Getting rolled" happens, usually on one map, then teams change the next map. There is usually at least some give-and-take. What wears me down is when the same goddamn teams roll from map to map. There was never any resistance, no challenge. We tried being coordinated, building ubers, coordinating our attacks and such, but there was no point against the better team. Especially on that second-to-last round of dustbowl, when we threw ourselves at the five-sentry nest complete with perpetually firing heavies and bonking scouts and airblasting pyros, who never seemed to miss when we charged in with an uber or three.
Eventually we stopped trying. The result was the same as when we did try. Only with more shit-talking. Hey, we've already stacked up the teams, why not rub it in. You stay classy, PA servers.
I realize I'm not the best player in the world, not by any stretch of the imagination. Usually that doesn't stop me from having fun, feeling like I can contribute to a team. Tonight, I just felt completely powerless. Even though I had a bunch of points and contributed by blowing up sentries or using ubers or killing mans or whatever, it made no difference to the outcome whatsoever.
Ugh, I'm going to get some sleep. I'll probably be back on tomorrow, since I love playing this game. Nights like tonight make me doubt that.

Good dbowl turn around tonight with Starbuck. As much as I didn't want to play medic I had no choice and we won. Yggi whatever, if you're posting here, you gotta keep moving and healing as medic man, play a little more as pyro or something and get the feel for whats happening.
That or an exercise in going insane, which at least the other players may accept as the more likely scenario, as I still have the tendency to hit my mic button.
I have a mic but it sucks, and everytime I hit it I'm sure I sound like:
"BBZZZZSHHHSHSBZH!!!"
That translates to "Spy" by the way. Just for future reference.

Can jonxp update the map rotation of his server? Throw in some cp_steel maybe. Maybe one of the other new maps like freight or whatever too. Or hoodoo.
I'm just saying is that this rotation is getting a little tired.
When we have one Medic, you don't get to complain about which weapon I use, damn it. Roll a Medic, use the Medigun, and put me to shame. It's not difficult.
Also, I predict that next E3, they'll launch L4D3 and have a preview trailer for L4D4.

And yeah rak I wanna see you guys duke it out. That sentry spot at A is new to me, or atleast, I've never used it to such great effect. Its not really a "drop this here while we defend B" sentry spot. But I've learned another teleporter exit spot that would be good for offense that spies can't reach.

Its my most played class (not counting my Soldier time, because I split this account with my dad and he only ever plays soldier). 150 hours of it now man, I wanna play something different for once. We need a new crop of medics to take over.

Who does this? I'll be honest, sometimes I'll stack. Depending on how bad the stack is(and my mood), I usually switch to something besides Medic though. There are people I prefer to play with. But as bad a stack as I've seen, I've never seen anyone brag about it.
I hate team stacks because when we get it on a map like Well or Granary which I really like and never get to play, its always over in 5 minutes and its back to Dustrushpitline.

Yeah, that one was me. All I have to offer in my defense is severe noob- PC gaming, Multiplayer gaming, and FPS gaming are all things I have only properly encountered in the past several days; years of JRPGs had long ago worn away my meager reflexes. I have been playing Pyro a lot (two whole hours woo!) as there is no joy quite like jumping a pack of players and torching the lot regardless of my own survival. I figure I'll get better with practice and once I actually know where shit is I can probably fake being a decent player. Regardless TF2 is some of the most fucking fun I have ever played even when I have 60+ deaths and 3 kills.
Also no team needs 3 snipers all of you should stop being snipers.
PS does "team stax" refer to an unbalance of classes or an unbalance of players? Is it possible to manually switch teams without disconnecting and re-connectiong to the server?
Is there any idea who's getting the next update? I heard engineer bandied about in the past but I don't know if that was speculation or if they ever said.
