I really can't imagine them omitting the Supra as a street car, either. It's an icon. It's been in every game of this kind since the original Gran Turismo. And since Forza 3 lacks the presence of the R35 GTR (due to Polyphony's ties to the GTR team) it would be unwise to omit any other Japanese icons.
The JGTC Supras are nice and all, but they have a 4 cylinder engine to meet the rules that series had at the time. The actual street cars had the equally iconic 2JZ-GTE engine, which so many bards and minstrels have written epic tales of.

Mmmmm...you know I love it when you talk Supra. You just won my heart, sir. If you're interested, I think I'd like to show you my...inline 6.
whats with all the kiddy brakes on its own, replay the last turn shit...?
That's for our friends/relatives/younger brothers and sisters to use so that they and we can play together and still have fun. For those that know how to drive well in a sim racing game, you can just turn off assists to taste, and not use the replay system.
There's a good chance, he could be playing on "green discs" which are essentially test retail discs before full-on manufacturing gets started.
Right, that usually means you're past cert though, right?
You can't start testing green discs without passing cert. Testing retail masters implies no changes are needed to the disc, meaning MS approved it already.
In the video for the murcielago, the WALL that the TV is mounted on seems to be changing colors in sync with the game, wtf?
Also, Forza 2 didn't look as bad as those screen would have you believe, just when you took a screenshot and uploaded it came out like ass for some reason.
Wow, i think I am somewhat acquainted with the Turn 10 guy with the black Viper. I've talked to him before, a long time ago. I was wondering if that was the same car.

Er, you mean Che?
The Turn10 guy you speak of is Che Chou, aka "Shoe", of EGM fame, who now works for T10 as their Community Manager.
If you talked to him before, a long time ago.. probably not -- the Viper is in FM3, he's only had it for a few weeks/months.
The Forza 3 demo will feature the game's new cock-pit view, refined damage model, new rewind function and even allow players to pull barrel rolls around the full Camino Viejo circuit. Forza 3's September 24 demo includes five playable vehicles:
2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR
2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
2009 Ferrari California
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
2009 Mini John Cooper Works
Also, Forza 2 didn't look as bad as those screen would have you believe, just when you took a screenshot and uploaded it came out like ass for some reason.
FM2 had a very limited lighting engine, and all the flaws showed up in photo mode. There was only a limited amount of angles and settings you could use to get a decent picture. Otherwise.. it came out like shit.
actually looking at it again it looks like its just changing colors randomly.
The camera is probably set to auto white balance and auto-exposure, and is getting messed up by the changing colors on the TV. Plus there's lots of noise, and it's an event, so there might be neato lights changing colors all around...
So I got the xbox wireless racing wheel last week and have been polishing my skills on Forza2. Man did I suck for a couple of days... but once I changed the view to hood view, and actually started trying to drive, not play a videogame, I got much better. I'm still better at driving my real-life car (VW GTI) than most of the other cars I have right now. The Elise doesn't seem to handle quite as well as I was lead to believe it handles by the automotive press, my Cayman S I had to de-tune back to stock HP (I left the suspension and race wheels) to not spin out in a straight... I'm getting pretty handy with the e46 M3, though.
...is it obvious I have a thing for european cars?

Nothing wrong with that, euro cars are the BEST cars!
Communist!
But yeah, European cars fucking rock. I pretty much just love all cars. American, Euro, Japanese, what have you.
yeah, I'm actually pretty much there with you, although Japanese are at the bottom of my personal preference list (with the obvious exceptions that rank up there with Euro for me - GT-R, 370z, some infinitis...).
One thing I've noticed is that Euro cars seem to age better than Japanese cars. If you look at an early 90's BMW or Mercedes, it looks kinda classic, while an early 90's Lexus looks really dated. Japanese cars might look cooler right now, but they don't age as well as Euro. And when I say Euro, I'm 90% talking German... because holy crap old lamborghinis look ridiculous! I watched the beginning of Cannonball Run 2 the other night, which starts with "2 hot chicks in a white Lamborghini" and it was really, really awful the way 90% of everything from the 80's is awful...

Yeah, it's kind of interesting to see as we get further and further from the 80's, what decisions were made that actually turned out okay.
Like the GNX? Hardcore 80's styling, but it looks absolutely awesome. Same goes for the CRX. The boxy look of an 80's vette? I like it more and more every year, but I despised it when I was a kid. And I actually smile when I see an 80's Mustang that isn't rusted out.
On the flipside, some of the sexiest cars from those years look dated now. Lamborghini in particular is guilty of this, but the Testarossa looks like a relic these days. I used to love the Esprit.. now it looks like trash.

I still love the Testarossa. I really think it's one of the prettiest cars ever.

The 512 is a pretty decent freshening, but it makes the 80's TR's look really crummy.
The 348 surpassed the Testarossa in every way possible.

I'm going to echo the "Testarossa is sexy" sentiment. I've always loved that car since I was a little kid. It always struck me as "the classic Ferrari" for some reason. It's clean, it's sleek, nothing about the car is awkward or out of place...and those legendary side intakes are just fucking...fucking sweet, man...
FUN FACT: The entire intro video with the Challenger taking off at the end was captured in-game and not during replay. Basically, we detached the camera from the back of the car in 3rd person view and scripted it to do flybys and choreographed moves. These are essentially in-game graphics with no added AA, etc. We had considered doing a CG rendered intro video but felt confident that the game looked good enough to just do it all in-game in real-time.
Glad you guys enjoyed it. For those of you who are into avatars, we have pics of awesome Forza gear going up on FM.net shortly with our Gone Gold article.
Alternative trailer version of the intro video, though it seems someone posted it early as it wasn't supposed to be up until the demo was out. So no, the "Demo out now" bit at the end isn't true yet. ;P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31L2yCdhmqA
man, I think out of all the cars in the game the one I want to drive most is the Challenger, and them putting it at the end like that makes me want this game even more.

Well, the Countach was designed in the early '70s, so there's that.
But -- and maybe this is just me being in my early thirties and subsequently growing up with Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars from the '70s and '80s -- that period from about 1972 through the early-mid '80s is a pretty striking era of car design. You got the first-generation Lotus Esprit and Mazda RX-7, the first-gen MR2, the '77 Firebird, the (hella-underrated) 3rd-generation '71-'74 coke-bottle Charger, the BMW 3.0 CSL, the BMW M1, the Lancia Stratos, the Ferrari 308 GTB, the De Tomaso Pantera GT5S, the DR30 "Iron Mask" Nissan Skyline, the '71-'73 Mustang... but also the Pacer, the Gremlin, the Volvo 262C, the Triumph TR7, and pretty much everything Detroit was responsible for between 1974 and 1983 except the Camaro/Corvette/Firebird. It was a really mixed bag, but personally I think it's more memorable than the blob-car boredom of the early-mid '90s.

They're fully 60fps now, iirc. Check out the Sedona video released yesterday, you can see them in it.
