I don't get everyone going OMG BLIZZ IS LAZY over this. Typically they'd make 10 different models for tier sets, this time they're making 8. Those slack ass bastards.

Wow, I thought it was awesome that they were making different sets of armor for the factions, yet they still found a fucking way to be lazy.
I knew this is how it'd turn out. So far, the Horde stuff looks really good all around. The Alliance stuff shown so far, I'm not impressed with their recoloring efforts at all. It's like they barely put effort into that even. The mage stuff looks appropriate though.

I was actually more impressed by the initial Alliance plate models than anything else so far. They had clear iconography indicating the class, and colours and style that clearly indicated the faction really nicely.
The rest so far have been less impressive. Horde leather for druids looks like Northrend greens, the horde rogue stuff doesn't really yell rogue at all. The mail for shamans looks suitably shamany, if a little faction generic. While the hunter gear looks like it should be a shaman arena set or something, but hunter gear has always been horrible so I don't see why I should expect anything else at this point.
Alliance cloth doesn't look like anything at all though.
I'm not really finding it Lazy per se, it just seems like the oppurtunity that "Seperate gear for Alliance and horde" seems to be wasted for the most part, reskins or not.
Anyone interested in sending me a scroll of resurrection? As a fair warning this is only really to decide whether or not I even want to come back, so you may not get the free month if I decide not to go through with it.
No, it's not, that's just outdated info on the page, it's for all of the game.
Also, I don't get why people apologize about "maybe I won't play and you won't get a free month!" People get like 5(?) invites to send out and the invite comes back if you don't use it, I doubt anyone here has five invites sent out constantly to people that are going to renew and they'd be sooo grumpy if they didn't get a whole free month by you not playing again!
I got 4 free months in a row giving resurrections to people on this board when I was eagle eying the forums a while ago.
I'm not really finding it Lazy per se, it just seems like the oppurtunity that "Seperate gear for Alliance and horde" seems to be wasted for the most part, reskins or not.
Yeh, this. I don't think it's "lazy" but it definitely doesn't say ALLIANCE and HORDE.
So on the way home from work today, I was passed by a car with 3 decals on the rear. I couldn't tell what the third one was, but the first one was purple text saying "Epic" and the middle one was black text saying "Souldbound."
Thought that was weird.

I never said they were phoning it in, but I just wish there was a little variation in the classes beside the textures for the armor classes.

So I've been leveling a ret paladin. I surpassed my previous highest level pali, got to Outland this morning... and Divine Storm is mediocre somewhat.
However, ever since level 42 (when Judgements of the Wise was maxed out) the character has been a fucking beast and unstoppable, solo'ing elites with ease. And it only got easier with Art of War, and got WAY easier when Sheath of Light was invested in. It's ridiculous that flash of light was healing me for half my health almost (vanilla WoW gear though), and that every battle ended with max health and mana.
When I fight a mob one on one, it usually dies pretty damn quick. If the right crits come into play though, things die in a couple seconds.
So, I see people bitching about the changes coming to palis in the next patch. They cry about how the nerf is going to make ret suck again. Now, usually when people go from being overpowered to more on-par with other classes or where they're "supposed to be," they call it "sucking." But in all previous cases before now, I really have to say... like, really? You honestly think paladins won't still be kicking the shit out of mobs, or doing pretty damn good damage in groups and raids? I haven't PvP'd yet, and maybe THATS where the concern is, but come the fuck on now.
Edit - Also I killed Araj the Summoner when I was 58, with all the mobs surrounding him beating on me. That's not fucking right at all.
Divine Storm is actually bad ass, although it's not obvious.
And the changes to ret pallies coming do 3 things:
Decrease ZOMG burst dmg, thus taking away their ridiculous advantage in PvP
Increase their long term dps
Increase their survivability
Ret paladins are getting buffed overall, they're just getting their PvP "one" shotting taken away.
I hope this trend continues, because I detest the huge burst damage in WoW PvP. Long time-to-kill in PvP is what I prefer, instead of who can blow cooldowns and burst first.

See that bolded part?
Why in the blue hell does a class with effectivly THREE health bars need more survivability.
So I don't think they are doing that. But the rest is kinda right.
Ret paladins have lost a lot of their "olol bubble heal smash your face" abilities in this patch. As long as you have people not being stupid which I doubt.
Just like watching shamans wail on resto druids for 3 minute before they die because of exhaustion. When all it takes is about few purges (which no one uses for some reason).

We don't purge resto druids because of fucking lifebloom. Which, now that I think about it, we should do from now on because of the changes to lifebloom forever ago (about how it refunds some of the mana if it ticks through the whole way or whatever).

This is great news. As a rogue I stand a decent chance of winning almost any 1-on-1 fight, except against ret paladins where I invariably lose because they can often take me from full HP to dead before hammer of justice wears off.

It returns mana when it blooms which it does when it's dispelled, so it should still return mana. I can't verify this first-hand since I haven't PvPed as resto since the change was put in.

Oh, well fuck, I'm still not gonna bother fighting resto druids then.
Running into a resto druid with shitty gear in a BG is always a treat, because it's rare that I can fight a tree druid one on one without wanting to kill myself.

Tell that to my guilds hunter. Who has single handledly earned about 52 deaths from that process in a day. He dies more from that than actually fighting deaths in pvp.

Anyone post this yet?
After further consideration, and after hearing from many players, we are going to change how we approach the 2 vs. 2 arena bracket in Arena Season 7. We still think the 3 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 5 brackets will ultimately offer the best play experience, especially for very competitive gamers for whom game class balance issues are most noticeable. However, we recognize that many players just prefer to play in the 2 vs. 2 bracket and will miss the chance to earn the current season's gear. Therefore, we are going to still allow the 2 vs. 2 bracket to grant access to the current season of gear with three important exceptions: the current season's weapons will not be available for purchase, the current season’s shoulder armor will not be available for purchase, and players will not qualify for the Gladiator title/rewards unless you earn the appropriate rating in the 3 vs. 3 or 5 vs. 5 bracket. We look forward to the changes in the next major content patch and hope to have a great next Arena Season.
tldr: 2v2 rating still counts towards gear, just not shoulders and weapons. Also, no title from it.

Look, lifebloom's the only thing to consider when dispelling, besides the 30% dispel resistance on everything.
You have 2 options:
- Druid casts lifebloom -> Purge it -> Druid gets 50% of the mana back from the spell + Lifebloom Heal
- Druid casts lifebloom -> Don't purge it -> 7-9 seconds of healing -> Druid gets 50% of the mana back from the spell + Lifebloom Heal
Take your pick, only reason not to purge would be because the HOT portion wouldn't save him from death from your burst whereas the bloom would.
I still have no fucking clue why they decided to make tree form viable.
Resto Druids in arena's in BC were technically, the perfect representation of the Druid class. Overpowered, yes.
But thematically, with all the dynamic shifting and CC'ing and shit, it was completley spot on.
AND YOU GOT TO SEE YOUR ARMOR AS A DRUID. HOW COOL WAS THAT.
I agree about the thematic element. Resto druids were fine in TBC and classic, it's just that you had to not be a complete moron in order to do well as one. Apparently shifting and making use of all of your abilities in each form was too hard for people though, so now they can just sit in tree form forever spamming HOTs. That's not only cheap, but it's boring to play as too. But I was the only Resto druid I knew who spent half of any given fight in bear form feral charging and bashing healers or in cat form locking them down with maim, so I guess no one else really misses that old style.
I've never played much max-level WoW so please forgive my ignorance, but from what I've seen the only way to get weapons from PvP at 80 is via arena, right? That sucks for me since arena is basically the least appealing part of the game to me.

Better than needing 6 people to take one down. Now you can manage with two.

Not allowed.
If you want to show off your armor, go to Goldshire on an RP server. Pansy. <.<
