If a fairy can inhabit a boomerang, perhaps they can inhabit a sword?

The boomerang still looked like a boomerang though. Why would she look like herself while inhabiting a sword? I fully admit I could be wrong, but this theory seems like grasping at straws.

I don't see any grasping. She has the design elements of the master sword exactly. Like you said if it looks like a duck. She looks like the sword.

She looks like the grown up version of the Queen Fairy from Wind Waker, not a sword. Honestly, look at the picture I linked and another poster linked a few pages back. If you don't see the obvious similarities, you're willfully blind.
    Delzhand wrote: »
I don't get how this is even up for debate after that image that shows the resemblance part by part. If she isn't the sword itself, she clearly has some connection to it.

If I have to honestly load up photoshop to overlay the image I posted onto the concept art, I'm going to be flabbergasted. There are way more similarities to the Queen Fairy than the Master Sword.

She does look like the Great Fairy from WW. Her hair, eyes and colour of her skin are similar.

She has more in common with the Master Sword.
    speculation.jpg

Both sets of similarities could be coincidental but I'd say the similarities to the Great Fairy are more likely to be coincidental than the similarities with the Master Sword are. Also Link doesn't have a sword in the picture and in the main Zeldas (OoT, WW, TP) Link always gets the Master Sword eventually.

Also whilst the person looks like the Great Fairy from WW she looks nothing like the Great Fairy from TP.

    edit:

Wait, do you get the Master Sword in TP? I played it when it came out but haven't touched it since...

Yes. You do. You use it to break Zant's curse on you. Then kill Zant. Then kill Ganon.
I don't think this is before the forging of the Master Sword. The yellow lines, indicative of the Evil's Bane, are granted only by the prayers of the sages. The girl wouldn't have that if she is the Master Sword and it is before its forging.
To be honest, I don't like the concept of a talking sword. Didn't like it in Eartworm Jim (tv show), didn't like it in Sonic, I won't like it in Zelda if that is indeed the quote unquote spirit of the Master Sword.
I seriously doubt her likeness to the Master Sword is just a coincidence though.
I also seriously doubt her likeness to the Fairy Queen from WW is coincidence either.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if the great fairy looked that way in TP. Or if she was in fact the Queen Fairy afterall. They change art styles all the time. Plus, wouldn't you think a being that powerful would be able to control what people see it as?

Oh, and she definitely isn't a Zora. She doesn't look like a fish. At all. Ever.

I see a sword in that concept art.

I also see many pages of people going in circles around the same points with no progress. Is this normal for Zelda threads? I haven't been to G&T in ages.

More games in the Zelda series need ways to replay the boss fights.

I bought Majora's Mask as soon as it was released on Virtual Console. I beat Woodfall Temple and haven't played since. Then again, I've beaten it at least four times before.

Is your point that you can't refight the Woodfall boss? Because MM is the only Zelda that I know of that you can refight the boss in, just reset time and enter the temple, you can step onto the plaque at the start fo the temple and go straight to the boss.

Despite being in the same post, those are two completely seperate statements that have nothing to do with each other.

You fight the bosses again in Ganon's Tower in Wind Waker, but that's only one more time.

Ah, apologies, I didn't think it would be likely someone on here wouldn't know that.

Anyone up for a more realistic zelda? One where you can't kill everything approaching a dungeon, come back out and find it all back again? Or where the corpses dont dissolve into shadow? Again with the dark but meh. EDIT: Occurred to me that maybe they dissolve so as not to drop FPS: give us fewer, tougher enemies and more challenging puzzles instead.

Seeing some SotC footage I have to say, I am very impressed with the boss fights, what with the clmibing all over them etc. I think TP was just about getting there with the big fiery guy when you had to grab his chain; I would love to see more environmental interactivity, or else a boss fight that runs across an entire dungeon, and you have to keep moving all the while, could be really exciting. If the trouble is its too easy to evaluate what's going on an find the puzzle, make the boss something you have to really concentrate to avoid while struggling to find a solution.

For example, like the fire insect in WW puzzle, where you swing on the dragons tail, only you have to climb to the top of an epic tower, displace some chandelier or something, slide down the chain and then leap onto some flying boss.
Or there are these giant things moving towards Hyrule castle, you need to take them down. You can take them down individually, or you can steer them and crash them together, like the Oliphants in LotR.

Nope! I did got the deku maks yesterday night, saved at the owl statue, and started today from there. I got off the boat in the swamp, walked into the deku palace, and BAM froze.

Just got the deku mask and song of healing again. Now I have to get the great fairy mask again. And the red potion for Koume. And uuuuuuuuuuugh. This is my only complaint about MM, the save system is kind of broken.

Oh and it's the GCN collector's edition.

Once I move and track down a tv, I'm totally playing through both. I wish playing MM didn't freeze up my N64, guess I'll have to find a disc version.

The disc version has a nasty tendency to freeze also. If you do manage to find that version, turn off rumble. It improves stability somewhat. Also, every time you do an owl save, copy your game into the free slot in case it freezes. Once you resume a game with an owl save on it, the owl save disappears. So let's say you play for 4 hours completing 10 of the side quests. You do an owl save on day three and quit playing. You boot up the game later, walk into a new area and it hard freezes. Oh shit, guess what? That owl save went poof and you lost all your progress back to the last time to reverted to day 1.

The 10 seconds each time to copy the save is worth the 3+ hours of play you might lose otherwise.

Ah, I thought you meant the actual temple, not just the palace :p That's still a crapload of stuff to redo however, my sympathies.

The save system works brilliantly in a perfect theoretical world with no console crashes. It was just a tad unfortunate that the GCN version does cause sporadic system crashes. In any other game the rarity with which they happen would be shrugged off, but in MM the consequences can be dire indeed.

Man what? That fishing was horrible. All you did was throw the line and hope it dropped in front of the right fish. And don't forget that every time you fished you had to have the guy tell you how to fish again. If I'm remembering correctly that is. I tried looking it up on youtube, but all I'm getting are shitty LP videos.

The stealth in OoT I hated because it was just stupid as you had no idea how far they can see. I don't like when games do that with their stealth segments if it's not a stealth game already. I've never even attempted the stealth in MM because just looking at all those guards makes me immediately go get the stone mask.

I don't remember if you can do anything like this in the Gerudo Fortress but in Deku Palace a dotted line representing the guards' line of sight appears at night.

Also you can sidestep the line of sight problem completely by just not ever standing with a guard facing you.

I liked fishing in Ocarina the best because there was just this small pond you could quickly walk around and reach every corner with ease. But then came Twighlight Princess and there was all of the sudden this huge lake and a long list of fish to collect - it's the only part of the game that I didn't fully complete.

Was there even fishing in Wind Waker? It'd would be a natural fit, considering that you spend a great deal of your time on water, but I just can't remember.

Ah the stone mask. Like the bunny hood, the stone mask was used through the majority of my playthrough.

Especially through the Valley of the Dead. That canyon area.

For a terrified kid like myself, that mask was my bread and butter.

So far the only Zelda's I haven't played through are Twilight Princess, Phantom Houglass and Crossbow training, but a common problem with the others is the amount of money you're given. I'd like to see the rupees be actually used for something OTHER than buying items you can easily find in the open field.
Maybe something like, hiring guards to patrol the overworld against enemies, or something.
If I'm remembering right, Minish cap let you use your shells to buy figurines, which, while not great, if they implemented something similar with rupees, would at least give them some value.

    In TP rupees served as:

The problem with economy in Zelda is that they'd have to remove the " cut grass/smash pots" system to implement it. Why buy Arrows when you can just ride across a field of grass on your horse?
A side effect would be repeatable side quests for money which would be all but required.

More people would bitch about needing to grind for cash than anything else.

I think TP handled the money issue elegantly as mentioned above. I'd like to see super weapons that used Rupees as fuel too.
