    Gail Simone Off Wonder Woman
I’m sad to leave but very, very proud of the work we did together and delighted to have been a small part of Diana’s ongoing epic saga. It’s really been a joy. And I have to say in complete honestly, I am genuinely thrilled by who is taking over the book. It’s someone who is going to rock this book like there’s no tomorrow, and I could not be happier with this choice. They got this one 100% right. I think it’s going to be a new era of greatness for our princess. People are going to freak and that makes me smile a lot.

My schedule is packed full, as well…and I’m doing books that make me happy every day, like the incredibly fun and horrid SECRET SIX, which has some really shocking surprises coming, and then of course a book very dear to my heart, the return of BIRDS OF PREY in May, with artist Ed Benes doing the finest work of his career. And I can announce for the first time officially, a really exciting WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY mini-series starts in July! Add to that a little treat that is a life-long dream of mine coming true in WONDER WOMAN #600 and it’s turning out to be a great, great year. Aside all that, a huge surprise with one of my all-time favorite artists is coming, but we can’t even hint at that now, so pretend you didn’t read that last bit.

I hope the rumors are true and Morrison's taking over.

Frank Miller to take over Wonder Woman

I spent a while thinking about how to respond to that using a whore related joke. Then I realised that Wonder Woman being made into a whore by Frank Millar is not funny. Not at all. It's just sad. I pity him.

I don't know why people are surprised at modern Frank Miller. You could see the roots of that shit all through DKR, Year One, and The Man Without Fear.

    Sorry bro-dog.

I like Dark Knight Strikes Again because it's crazy enough, and dumb enough, to be fun. ASB is just grounded enough to keep me from having fun with concepts like Joker with a dragon tattooed on his back, and a midget referring to Black Canary as, "Sweet chunks."

I hated the opening of All Star Batman. The more I read it, the more absurd it became though. It was so bad, it looped back around to awesome at some point with scenes like painting a whole room, including himself, yellow, drinking lemonade and laughing at Hal Jordan.

And butter dumpster is a much better phrase than sperm bank.

I did think that was funny. But even then, it seemed like Miller wanted to try injecting some drama and gravitas into the scene, when Robin hits Green Lantern in the larynx, and Batman has to trach him, while simultaneously bitching at Robin. Reading it, I always felt like Miller couldn't decide whether he was doing a funny book, or a serious one.

I think it depends on the coke/acid ratio in his blood at the time.

In other comic book news, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Vol III): Century #2 is now listed as a 2011 release. Dang.

Wonder Woman's dialogue, where she just repeats herself, is mind-bendingly stupid. Not funny stupid, not awesome stupid, just stupid and bad in every way.

Solar how do you quote people

do you copy and paste their post and put it in quote tags?

because you can just hit the quote button at the bottom of their posts

(it bugs me that everything you quote doesn't have the original poster's name in it)
    (sorry)

Thanks man. Nova is my new "I will root for him against anybody" character that has replaced the Sentry, mostly because he, at least, has his own series and a number of rather impressive feats under his belt, whereas I've gone off the Sentry ever since he got his molecule powers as really they give him a free ride against anybody this side of Galactus.

I know, I feel bad, but honestly these days it's very difficult to love the Sentry, even for me. I mean, the Jenkins stuff is great, he was awesome in the civil war thing where he vapes Absorbing Man and also when he meets Moon Knight, but I'm tired of defending him all the time to people who are determined to just see him as a whiny, useless junkie. I'm a big fan of Bendis but honestly he's gone wrong here, I like the Sentry because I like to see an ordinary man struggle against his own psychosis, and that's not what we get any more. Rob Reynolds was a great hero with a dark side, but that great hero part has gone except in small places.

Hopefully Siege will bring back some of the old Sentry. I live in hope.

Don't... don't look at me *sob*

Age of the Sentry does owe a hell of a lot to Alan Moore's Supreme.

I assume that every Supreme book not written by Moore sucks ass, though.

Every arc of the book was a bit different that the last - to the point where writers were gave him a few different origins. Moore's version was the best, by far, and Leifeld's being the worst (shocker!), but some of the other arcs and appearance were pretty good. It's just hard for me to see the Sentry character and not see how much of him is Supreme and Miracleman inspired.

The new Superman and Wonder Woman writer will be JMS. Morrison's Wondy take is allegedly going to be non-continuity, sadly. Edit: or it may be a standalone graphic novel.

Edit edit: Bleeding Cool is not correct, The Source confirms that it's Superman and not Action Comics that JMS will be writing.
