He's doing Superman, not Action Comics. My reaction is cautious optimism. The Brave And The Bold has been mediocre to bad but I still hold out hope.

Yep, the blog I was reading messed that up. I've edited my post to clarify.

sort of interesting because i remember Robinson saying somewhere that he would be on until Superman #700 "and beyond"

i wonder if he's moving to Action or if the condensing of War of the Supermen to one month and now this move is a sign that DC is desperate to fix Superman from the current direction

Sales numbers across the Superman line indicate that the current creators in charge have failed spectacularly. In some cases, the books have lost 35K+ readers since they started the New Krypton nonsense.

Robinson has had a good run on Superman, even making something worthwhile with Superman not being there.

Hopefully he moves over to Action Comics because Rucka's run has been flat and filler.

Hopefully JMS is more Joe Kelly in his run on the title, a little bit of Spider-Man humor and undying love for Lois.....uh oh.

Wasn't it Morrison, Millar, Peyer, and someone else who were once tapped to reboot Superman, by dissolving his marriage? To my recollection, it was to involve Lois contracting a virus that affected her brain, and caused her to forget she was married to Clark. The caveat was that Clark could never tell her they were married, because if he did it would activate the virus again and kill her.

I'm sure there was more to it, but that's all I can remember. Anyone know what the fuck I'm talking about?

    Edit: Ah, here's the synopsis.

You got it right, the other person in that group was Waid.

It was a terrible idea too, because at that point they were only married for 4 years. And they're perfect the way they are now, that love triangle was always stupid, even in the Curt Swan days he probably wrote on the pages of his art he mailed in "this is fucking stupid, guys"

Given JMS' being a major superman fan and his feelings on OMD I believe he would respond to an editorial request to dissolve the Clark/Lois marriage by faxing everyone at DC a picture of his dick

For some reason there are Superman fans out there who want the old triangle to be back (and CShadow the triangle was Superman/Clark Kent/Lois Lane, she never knew his secret identity).

These are not real fans, they are not even real people. They will be banished to Iceland to live in Bjork's house in the middle of nowhere, pretending it is their Fortress of Solitude.

Hm, if I was a writer, how would I announce that I was taking over writing duties for one of the most iconic female heroes in the world? Probably not by talking at length about how much I love Superman.

Seriously, that's just kind of odd.

"Holy shit Superman's awesome, I love Superman, here's what Superman means to me.

oh and wonder woman's cool too"

You forget Krypto coming back and not only saving the day but helping out Martha and being her canine companion. Krypto gud dog. And the Jimmy Olsen stuff, making him become an investigative journalist and move him beyond photographer.

Saleswise, this is what happens when you have Superman leave his own books, it doesn't mean a good story can't still be told. Mike Carey has sold less on his Legacy work than Peter Milligan's run on X-Men, but it is infinitely better.

I didn't like the Krypto stuff, either. Having Superman scream at Metropolis citizens that "Here is your hero!" seemed out of character.

Guggenheim was announced to be taking over Action Comics months ago, but I wonder if that's still on the plate. Knowing that JMS is on the other book, and that they'll probably be separate stories just aiming to be good Supes adventures, I may give him a shot.

I will definitely read a JMS Superman, although maybe only for a short time (classic superman gets old quick). And yeah, this kind of blows for Robinson. He'll probably get just over a year in on JLA as well, before it's also rebooted again post brightest day. I wonder what else he may step onto over the next year or so.

So, we know about Superman 700, and Wonder Woman 600. What about Batman 700, also coming up in June?

Waid's blacklist from a monthly Superman title, that occurred before Didio took over. Was it a Levitz decision maybe?

And they didn't handle his Flash return very well, completely buckling when he returned and removing Acuna two issues in due to fan protest.

I know he doesn't like DiDio. He's spoken out against him a couple of times, saying that DiDio pretty much took 52 from the writers at the end and then would scream through the offices that Countdown was "52 done right"

I'd love to see Waid do a Ka-zar run again. He had Ka-zar beat up Thanos, come on, that's just awesome, and Zabu is the second coolest pet in comics today.

I don't want to believe that happened, therefore, it most likely did. *Goes searching for images of said event*

I used to love me some Ka-zar comics as a teenager, but mostly due to his smoking hot girlfriend.

Edit: just found a series of write ups of Thanos being beaten in a number of silly goose ways.

In the ongoing cycle of line wide shakeups and brand reinvention that is modern superhero comics, occasionally a series will come along that's out to prove that a new collection of heroes can reignite a classic idea. Marvel Comics has its sights set on just such a generation-defining run with "Young Allies," a new ongoing series by Sean McKeever and David Baldeon that launches this June as part of Marvel's Heroic Age branding.

Led by the girl without a world known as Nomad, who's been kicking her way through her own miniseries and backup stories in the monthly "Captain America" comics, the Young Allies lineup includes longstanding team player Firestar, the spider-swinging superheroine Araña, McKeever's own young hero Gravity and a new player named Toro whose inspiration comes by way of bullfighting more so than any sort of burning powers. "The idea behind 'Young Allies' is that it's literally a group of young allies. It's not so much a team in the conventional sense as it is a group of like-minded people of the same generation," McKeever told CBR News. "The basic idea for the book is that they're fighting for the soul of their generation. That comes to the fore immediately with the introduction of the Bastards of Evil, who are the unwanted sons and daughters of supervillains of course."
