I have seen so many episodes of good eats.

I used to watch that a lot with my uncle (he's an awesome cook, used to run a catering business). Quality show.

I've been meaning to make some macaroni and cheese from scratch (well, not the macaroni) since I saw the episode about it.

I like learning a little bit about the ingredient of the day.

Food Network is awesome. Guy Fieri is passable because he hosts Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and that show kicks heretofore unmentioned amounts of ass. What a job; going to every greasy spoon in the country and getting to try some of the most delicious yet deadly food available.

And of course Alton Brown for Good Eats, his "Feasting On..." specials and Iron "Bobby Flay will defeat you every time so why do you fucking people keep challenging him" Chef America.

Given the choice to take the life of George W. Bush or Bobby Flay... hmm... that would be a toughie...

Oh, who am I kidding. Rachel Ray goes under my axe first.

Because he was only briefly on Food Network, maybe?

Also because he's clearly and vastly superior to any of the people this thread has been talking about. Except Alton, who's not worse, just different.

I love Anthony Bourdain, though. He's who I'd like to be, only he's wealthier, and more successful. (And a man, but I'm not particularly envious of that part.)

Yeah, that was sort of my point. That instead of those Food Network hacks, we should be talking about someone worth talking about.

I used to watch the food network a lot more than I do now. Despite her being as annoying as she is, Rachel Ray's food is really accessible, and I still make this "korean style" flank steak recipe of hers.

On the other hand I love Alton Brown, but I've made a bunch of his recipes and they never quite turn out like the way his look or are described as tasting. I must not be using enough kosher salt. Although, my little brother and his friends put together a terracotta smoker that he did on an episode and it worked well.

This one recipe of Bobby Flay's for a German style potato salad, then with some Guinness stewed then grilled brats...is fucking tasty, gunna make that next weekend. it's fucking awesome.

What I've made of Tyler Florence's food has always been pretty good. Especially thanksgiving'ish recipes, and breakfasts.

    Also, Giada whisking...

I watch Food Network quite a bit. Last week they showed a new Iron Chef America that actually involved Morimoto cooking in his one competition per season, and he rocked the fuck out of the Skirt Steak they had to use. Watching him work is inspiring

It looks like they are bringing back the original Dinner Impossible host. I liked him a lot so this is good news
