these companies either pay $$$ for keynote time or apple knows that the software is what drives the iphone sales, not the actual iphone's phone capabilities

Snow Leopard went from "meh, Leopard is good enough and this doesn't look like much of an upgrade" to "yeah may as well upgrade day 1 at that price".

I did not blow off work to hear about Tower Defense games, especially a company that uses an emoticon in their name.

Besides, tower defense peaked with Fieldrunners.

So how about this science app demo failing to work?

"The app charts the sensor data in real-time. The demo didn't work though -- nothing was sensed. Playing a pre-recorded demo."

    Comedy.

Over on MacRumors, they're streaming live pictures, and it looks like dude had an accessory hooked to his junk. I have a feeling that, sooner than later, teledildonics is gonna be huge with this new accessory framework.

For the love of God, stop showcasing developers and show me something new.

edit, sorry, I guess you guys are reading the same thing I am. Carry on.

    Its more like

"People will pay an extra 15$ a month for this feature so why should I give it away for free?"
Haha. I don't doubt that either.

That's the thing, though. iPhone owners ALREADY pay out the ass for a data plan. Tethering doesn't add any additional strain to the network because internet access goes through the device that already had access to it...
Its been true of awhile. I don't know why I tried to defend them. I've been doing research on optical networks lately, and have just noticed the huge discrepancy between the amount of data that could be sent vs. what we actually can send due to other bottlenecks in the system.

I'm stuck on Verizon though. They'll sell me a phone with bluetooth on it that they've disabled for no reason whatsoever except to fuck with my mind. No data plan. Nothing. They just don't want me moving the pictures off my shitty camera phone to my PC for free I guess.

" Once at the lot to pickup your car, you can tap the horn icon and the actual car horn will honk so you can easily find it. The car can be unlocked this way too."

Did apple just show an app to steal cars?

Although I will probably never use that car rental service, that is pretty aces that you can honk the horn or unlock the car with the phone. Seems like you'd have to lock that down pretty tight from the car side of things...

The fact that they're describing this amp thing as the "last one" but it's only 11:40 implies to me that there'll be a "one more thing" and then it'll be over at noon.

this demo failure of an end to a keynote is capping off an already silly keynote with features promised but not supported by AT&T. Steve Jobs isn't going to let anyone else do it ever again.

It'd be kinda funny if in GTA7 they had something built into the in-game cell phone that let you do this.
