This is the App Thread for my Dungeons and Dragons campaign, The Darkest Throne.
Im looking for five adventurers fluent in the 3.5e rules. In my opinion, these rules allow alot more flexability for Role Playing and are also much more simple.
The campaign will be a Play By Post format. This allows a much more casual experiance and is also much easier to keep track of.
All roles will be by
Invisible Castle, except some rolls done by the GM (me) - There are reasons why the GM rolls in secret...
In terms of books - All books are pretty much allowed, although an unusual race/class selection will have to go through me.
Game World: I would like to give each player a specific view of the game world - depending on their history, race and allignment.
I hope I get some victims, I mean err... PLAYERS.
Q&A?

When you say fluent in 3.5 rules, what exactly do you mean? I have a PHB and have played a little bit, but I've never seen the inside of the DMG and have only looked up two animals in the MM (for familiar stats).
If you have got the basics in combat, then you should be able to muddle through. Have you played any other versions?
The setting is much like any common D&D campaign - the world however is a bit different.
As I said, you would see the world in a very different way depending on your race, etc.
In terms of common knowledge elements, I will post a world map soon along with basic territories.
The quest will feature a steady mix of RPing and Dungeon Crawling. I can give you some information for the opening quest... It will basicaly be an investigation to find a certain missing Lord. It will feature a dungeon crawl and serves mainly to familiate everyone with how things will work.
And hum. well. Do you need a character idea or some such ?
Your characters and relationships with other characters makes alot of difference to the opening scenario.
Also, if your unsure about anything or whatever, feel free to add my msn.
I've played two fairly involved campaigns in FR and also through a decent campaign for the Shadowrun game. I feel quite comfortable with the player-side of D&D 3.5, although haven't experienced everything... like, I'm playing my first caster (Wizard) in the current FR game I'm playing IRL now, and that's opening up spells and that stuff to me. Still, though, I've got a good handle on the game from the player's side of the table.
How should we go about character creation? Are there any requirements or limits?
I will allow most other classes, including psionics. But run them through me first.
It would be useful to speak to everyone who wants to join over msn at some point.
ADD ME!!
I'm at work, so won't be able to add anyone to MSN until then :P
How about the actual creation process? Point-buy? How many points? Rolling?
What's the strating lvl ?
However, I can play a varient with 4th level characters.
Roll for stats. 4d6, and drop the lowest.
Ok. It will be useful to go over stuff in msn you see.
I also have some custom Character sheets if you want. Although they arent required, I prefer them.
Oh and I installed messenger, you're not there :P
Stats roll
Level One works for me.
What are these custom sheets?
I should be able to do my rolling in four hours when I get home.
Not exactly sure, but maybe rogue? You?
I'm just curious about them, is all. :P
Hermen, is that because Rogue is what I said? Because I'm not really set yet. :P
Basicaly they just re-organize everything into a more logical format.
But yeah, they dont make a huge difference.
Goliath Barbarian
Halfling Rogue
Human Warlock
Dwarf Cleric
Human Swordsage
Human Focused Conjurer
Star Elf Bard
Do you allow flaws ? Also good or evil ? If good, is it Exalted good or more grayish good ?
Grondat, Dwarf Rogue
Stats Roll
Stats
STR - 11
DEX - 15
CON - 11
INT - 13
WIS - 14
CHA - 9
A bit lame, maybe... but we'll see how he goes.
Okay, I just checked out Myth-Weavers and threw Grondat up there:
Grondat
Male CN Dwarf Rogue, Level 1, Init +6, HP 6/6, Speed 20
AC 12, Touch 12, Flat-footed 10, Fort +0, Ref +2, Will +2, Base Attack Bonus 0
(+2 Dex)
Abilities Str 11, Dex 15, Con 11, Int 13, Wis 14, Cha 9
Condition None
You can have ONE flaw. I dont really recomend them though, but if you want...
What is the standard starting gold, again? hahaha... My GM is more Story and less Details with things like that and spell components and whatnot.
If you play a rogue that is. Pg. 111, PH
Ah, I suppose I could have looked that up later. I've never had to, so thought it might be in the DMG or something. Whoops.
[Edit]
Aww man!
Rolling for Starting Gold (Rogue, 5d4x10) (5d4=9) x10 = 90gp
Still need 3 players !
Exactly!
I guess I can work it with background, though.
Great Success!
Excellent.
