Actually, one of the things that is irritating is that we don't really get digital distribution numbers, which I do think will become more and more significant as time goes on. Between that and not getting precise numbers on popcap-type games, (like PvZ, and hopefully more in depth games in that vein to come), it is a little ...irritating to try and find reliable PC numbers when a significant source of sales is kept in the dark.
Edit: I apologize for my earlier outburst, it's just that I have just spent the last hour or so talking to someone who actually does think the iPhone gaming will somehow become big "worldwide" (doesn't even acknowledge that phone gaming is already pretty big in some places (e.g. Japan)) that I guess I got a little sensitive about it. Sorry.
iPhone gaming is already big worldwide. Well over a billion apps downloaded and all.
Indeed it is. But the cynical part of my brain has come to the conclusion: "If you want to dominate sales charts, make your platform as popular as possible and your games/apps as small as possible. Infinitesimally small. Like 1 KB."
Then, you just need to convince people they're good kilobytes. Random number generator. Coin flipper. Obviously, that's now how it works, but sometimes I wonder....
