"I just made out with that radiator woman from the radiator planet."
"Fry, that was a radiator."
"Oh. Um... is there a burn ward around here?"

It wasn't until I was bored and reading Richard Nixon's wikipedia page that I understood what he meant by "Now beat it, before I get Cambodian on your asses."
The pacing id always off in these "direct to dvd but we'll chop it into episodes later" things because the concept forces it into a four act format, which is stupid and awkward. Most of them seem to be written with two of the "episodes" blurred together into one double-long act, which tends to make it drag on a bit since they still have to have the longest act work as a two separate episodes. If they get the pacing right for a two-parter, it's all wonky for a long act and vice-versa. I think Bender's Game got the pacing the closest, too bad everything else about it just isn't any good. The first half made me want to watch that Tom Hanks movie and the second was and Anthology of interest segment gone way too long. I haven't seen Wild Green Yonder yet, I'm hoping it's as good a conclusion as The Devils Hands are Idle Playthings.
It might have been easier to work with three or five acts, but if each act is going to be a single 23 minute episode, either the movie would only be an hour long (which I think would have been better, but may have been a let-down), or they'd be two hours, which is way stretching it for this sort of thing.

Professor: Same thing I teach every semester. The Mathematics of Quantum Neutrino Fields. I made up the title so that no student would dare take it.
Fry: Mathematics of wonton burrito meals. I'll be there!
Professor: Please, Fry. I don't know how to teach. I'm a professor.
