Well, it wasn't really Microsoft that tore Kor and Tea Party away, unless they've infiltrated more aspects of the country than expected.
At least this gives me more time to devote to finaly finishing Valkyria Chronicles.

You do have to supply your own cardboard box, right? I chose to print out the label since we have the sticky printer paper stuff, so I could get it on its way either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Eh, since there seems to be a deficiency of cardboard boxes around, I simply switched it to them sending me a box and label. So all I have to do is await its arrival, which'll be around Friday I expect. Then another two-three weeks. Do I need to detatch the faceplate? It said to not send in any accessories, which it does technically count as.
At least this repair isn't as painful as the PS3's was. With that, I had to talk to a clueless tech support peon and struggle to convince her that, while the PS3 was outside the warranty by a few days, it wasn't used until a few days later and was therefore still within the year. It's pretty obvious Microsoft is used to this procedure; if only they put that effort into making the components of the console out of a material other than glass.

It depends on your local UPS store/distro center, really. I have the actual regional distro center here in Omaha, so I've never HAD to have a box when bringing things in. Tommorow when I take in my 360 I am just going to be taking the 360 and the label because they always box things up for me.
But then again they might charge you for a box. Who knows. But either way they should be able to box it up for you.
What they mean by that is if you bought one of those cheap special faceplates don't send it in with the xbox, cause you won't get it back. I saved my faceplate from the halo 360 because I thought I wouldn't get one back, but they did so now I have an extra faceplate
Just take off the hard drive and you're set
and I think it actually only took me a week to get my replacement, but then again I had my own box

I'm pretty sure my UPS charges insane amounts of money for those stupid boxes, which is why I changed it to them sending me a label. But I thought the website reads that, should you opt to have them send you the label, that they send you a box as well.
No, I just got a label. Basically they just send you the label and it sticks itself to the box, either way you can just hand it to them in the store/distro center.
For free boxes you can usually ask a local store. Whenever we had to move the local grocery stores would practically give you all their boxes if they could when you asked them.

Yeah, I could probably get a free box from the high school my mom works at. At least it doesn't have to be very big, since the 360's relatively small.
Regardless, I don't see myself getting back onto Live until sometime in mid-July.
Also as Lookfree said just take off your faceplate. They tell you do it anyway. Spare faceplates are awesome.

I'd still have to wait for them to send the label; I thought we had the sticky label printer paper, but it turns out we ran out, so I'm letting them send the label instead. And that will take three or four days, which means the console's travels will be impeded upon by the weekend. So it'll only get there next week, they'll take a few days to get to it, and send it back out near the weekend.
Okay, so maybe it won't be the middle of July, but it won't be any less than two weeks.
Are you sure they are sending the label? Because printing it out is a seperate option
HOWEVER
You can just print it out then tape it onto the box with clear tape, which is how I did an RMA once (print out label, clear tape that bitch, send it in). They just need to be able to scan it.

Yeah, I originally opted to print it out, but once I noticed we were out of the necessary paper, I canceled that repair request and made a new one with them sending me the label.
And the status says Shipping Label Sent, so that implies that it is on its way.
Being an Elite does have an effect in Swat, though, it makes you look God-damn awesome! The enemies are just so... awed... by your awesomeness that they subconsciously choose to miss, see?
And did you see one of the comments? "this should be on a swat map" How on Earth would that make any difference?
