I find it hilarious that nobody cares I am supernaturally-parkouring my way across the city so long as I am disguised. Officers of the US military are more hardcore than I originally thought.

Well done, you guys are really good at * everybody off. You must be the worst game creators ever to not implement cheats in a sanbox game. * IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!! I am defernatly never buying a radical game again, all you do is let the fans down and lie. I bet next you're going to tell us the leg does nothing.oh and you completely * us over. I think I'll just go and trade this back in now and get a bettergame. Thanks for wasting my money you * !!!
Wow...that's silly.
Why the rage at there being no cheats? Is it really that big a deal? And not having cheats suddenly invalidates the fun I assume they had during the game?
Ah, Internet, you never fail to disappoint.
The internet wouldn't be the internet without bleeding hearts bitching and moaning in the whiniest way possible. I mean it is a valid complaint but the way he says it makes him come off like a dick.
I'd say that they should be more concerned that there won't be any kind of DLC's since that signals that this game never was high on Activisions priority list to begin with.
And why would it be when you could be releasing Guitar Hero: World Tour 5: Journey to the Center of the Earth and CoD10.(Not ragging on the games, more so Activision. For the people who take stuff too seriously).
Not to mention trying to sue EA and Double Fine for trying to (gasp!) make money from a game Activision dropped (Brutal Legend). Activision is really fuckin up at a corporate level. Next thing we know, they will release a WoW 2 and shutdown WOW1 servers on release day.
Is there no way to use your powers in disguise, even as a cheat? That's the most disappointing part of the game for me. I want to be able to waltz into a military base, then *shluuuck* oh my god the commander has claaaaaws!
I find it hilarious that nobody cares I am supernaturally-parkouring my way across the city so long as I am disguised. Officers of the US military are more hardcore than I originally thought.
Well, they are Marines.
Have you guys ever been to a military base? There's no cars, just people running and flying all over the place.

Can you even imagine the rage this would induce? My god, it would be glorious.

well tanks and choppers and hunters are good and all
but the game did lack a bigger enemy I think
I think that's my biggest issue with the game. Except for a handful of boss battles after you get use to your powers the only thing to really challenge me was when I got swarmed by too many Hunters and Helicopters. I'd just love to see some of the far, far, bigger infection spawned critters.

Well, they are Marines.
Look, after seeing what happens to the other guys who report on Alex, you just look for any excuse not to bring up alerts.

Bob:"Hey, hey Joe... that guy looks like the one we were told is a walking Bio-weapon. Think I should call it in?"
Joe: "Dude just shut the hell up and keep staring out from the gate, we don't have a keycard to the inside, odds are he'll just ignore us!"
Alex:"Bah, no officers inside to eat, fuck this base man!" *Devastator*
Bob & Joe:"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!"
I really don't have a lot of complaints about this game, but
The part where you lose your powers is lame as FUCK. Removing core gameplay elements for the sake of variety or challenge is weak, weak game design.
I thought it was going to be lame too but it turns out you're still awesome even without powers.
True, but that doesn't make it less annoying. Especially when I just bought half of them. It's like buying a new Z06 and only being able to use 400 of the total 500 horsepower for the first 30 days. 400 is a lot, but 500 is more, and I paid for 500.

Supersoldiers usually fuck me over, i have died countless times because I keep screwing up the counters.

If by 30 days you mean the half hour it takes to complete the story missions to get them back.
I'm assuming that there is a new thread starting soon? I have a few more pages to read before i get to the end of this one...
Request:
Could someone (Morninglord perhaps) maybe write up a quick noob's guide to character building? I am just starting out, and there are so many tempting choices for upgrades... What would be the things to do right away? Things to avoid? This might be a great addition to the new OP...
Thoughts?

*edit* Ok, if you want something more serious, I grabbed a few movement upgrades first, followed by health, then just grabbed whatever the given mission required I have, or upgrades for whatever my current favorite weapon was. I have never, once, felt as though I have gimped my character or made anything harder on myself. You're given so much EP, it's not hard to max out; and if there's something you really want right now, do an event or two and you can buy it; takes 10 minutes.

I maxed out my mobility stuff first so I could get away quickly if I needed to. To be completely honest I didn't bother with any devastator moves until very late in the game.

my quick and dirty recommendation would be to grab the available Movement upgrades early. This will make it much easier for you not only to get around but also to earn yourself some gold medals in a lot of the events that pop up during the first few missions. Overall, better movement will help you earn even more EP, which will, in turn, get you more upgrades.
I'm only about 5 or 6 story missions into the game, and I've got all available upgrades purchased with a few hundred-thousand EP to spare for when the next chunk of powers unlocks.
Apparently if you patsy a dude, and the other guy is not in line of sight to shoot, he'll babble endlessly about how he's innocent or whatever.
And by "endlessly", I mean "Until I get bored, consume his friend and shoot him."
I did it outside a Hive once, but there were few soldiers left alive around and most of them were firing at the Hive/hunters. I was just about to shrug and walk off when a rocket from a block away turned him to paste.

This stops being true about 70% in, when the upgrades start at 700k EP and go up to 1.5 Million EP. Missions award, what, 200k, in exchange for tears. Kill Infected Water Towers for EP. They are worth a bunch, and they drop more (yellow orbs), and they are all over the place, and easy to kill.

I'm at that part now, and instead I just have 2 million EP to spare.
The EP you gain scales, so it's never that much of a concern.

You'd think they'd at least pass out flyers showing what Alex looks like.

Thankfully, it doesn't take long to get past it.

Throw crap at them and use the missile launchers. Your new claws wont do shit against them. I think I died on my first try, but it isn't that bad.
Yeah, you don't really have enough to fight Hunters properly yet. Keep your distance, fill them with lead/explosion/thrown shit.
Run away like a ninny and shoot them with rocket launchers until they get weak enough, absorb, repeat until cutscene.
That's the first difficult section of the game. There aren't many other parts that bitchslap you with difficulty like that, but there are a few.
This fight is pretty much entirely to teach you the wonders of the Dodge-Roll. Get in a few hits, roll away. They start a combo? Roll away.
Someone coughs three blocks away...
You get the drill
awesome game however, i gambled my 50 bucks and came out a winner
