I think most people are concerned it'll be like Family Guy. A horrible shambling corpse.

So last week some water started dripping from one of the air vents in the hall restroom. Since then I've been trying to figure out where its coming from and how to stop it with poor results. Today I finally found the source after falling through the ceiling from the attic. Major renovations are apparently on the way.

Worst day ever by a wide margin. And I here I thought staying single would spare me a significant amount of sorrow.

    I hadn't even considered that.

Oh well, I'm sure at least enough episodes will be decent to make the DVDs worth buying.

Not a surprise, but there are 0 people to chat with on my IMs right now. I need to fly out of here, soon, so I can sleep.

Can anybody find me the clip of the futurama episode with the universal translator? The one that makes everything French?

Man, that show is my favorite, no lie. I went through a whole period where I would watch all of the DVDs, then watch of all the DVDs again with commentary, then watch the DVDs again, and so on. I still do the DVD-DVD with commentary thing from time to time, and I'm excited to see it back on.

The odd thing: never watched the movies.

You should save the movies until the next time it's cancelled.

The first film was pretty bad, the second was okay. If the other two follow this trend, then the fourth will be on a par with the series.

I wanted to wait until I had bluray to watch the films, then got the PS3 and an HDTV and they were stolen blah blah crap. I'll rent them before the series starts, or something.

If Bender's Game was the last one, I'd have to say that I didn't like it much, but it seemed to be popular.

Strangers with Candy is pretty funny, but I'm afraid that I'm only watching it because I have an obsession with Stephen Colbert I didn't know about.

EDIT: Prof! More additions to ourTales page! He claims subvert the trope!

Why do people take already compressed file formats and make .rars out of them?

What is it that makes them think this is a good idea?

What it is, is a bundle of Librivox (thus Public Domain) recordings that someone's put together. I'm using a torrent site because it's considerably faster than downloading from Librivox themselves.

Rather than rar the entire bundle (which might conceivably save 100MB or so over the 2.2GB), they've individually rarred each file. Some of the archives are larger than the uncompressed file.

On top of that, Librivox zips up all the files for a given book. So this person has downloaded a load of .zips, uncompressed them, and then recompressed all the files contained therein individually.

    Until Monday.

I got a bigger car for the drive this time, but it's a diesel so might actually cost less in fuel.

Man, Colbert is pretty mean in the episode where the main character can't read.

"I've made you a document to certify your failure.

Here you go Jerri. Perhaps you could have a 4 year-old decipher them for you."

My cousin is getting married, then we're heading up to Aberdeen to visit Cesca's Mum, since we'll be in the same country for once.
