Is it just my bad luck, or does anyone else experience a majority of their games they get swamped with lands? I've even went so far as to remove all of the extra cards you unlock and I still get swamped like a mother fucker. It's frustrating to draw upwards of 6 turns worth of lands.
Also:
Here's a bug I've noticed a while back. Dread destroys Underworld Dreams. How the fuck do you overlook shit like that?
I'm trying to unlock 100% and the game keeps locking up on me during the co-op campaign.. it's pretty annoying.
Try rotating the view with the directional pad. This has helped me get it unstuck before.
Yup, in my experience, it just needs a little "stimulation" to realize that the game is still going on. Hitting buttons randomly seems to work wonders. I tend to hammer on the triggers but the D-Pad is an even better idea.
Seems to me like a situation where the main board gets stuck in "player is zoomed in on a card" mode, screwing around with it helps it get its shit back together.
yeah I've found that zooming in/out does help when it locks up in game but it keeps freezing up at the loading screen when it's loading the match.
Haven't given my 360 any loving for a long time, so I hooked it up again and downloaded this.
I never really got into Magic because I didn't feel like buying tons of cards, but this is damn fun.

i actually won my first ever 3 way match i've ever played today, Me red- no unlocks, then a black, and a blue deck.
i really kinda WHOMPED them... i took kind of a risky draw with 3 mana i think and some higher value creatures but by the end i had like three 3/3's and a couple 4/5's and a few lower value creatures as well.
Has anyone else noticed that their ranks have dropped instead of increase by winning games?
I've played ten games this morning and won eight of them only to drop from the 1000's to the 1600's. ( I checked my ranking in the morning, after playing one game, my rank dropped, then after playing and winning another it dropped again.)

Any explanation for this?
I'm not familiar with the ranking system, but I know that in some games the score increases with wins (SF4 does this, right?)
I hate how the computer seems to get perfect or near-perfect draws with decks and when you play with them your draws are somewhere between disappointing and downright shitty. I swear every time I play Garruk he gets that thrice-damned troll ascetic out on his third turn and immediately puts blanchwood armor on it. Every damned time.
Also, that black-red-green deck is nigh unplayable in the form you get it in. I realize it has potential with all of the unlocks but how the hell do you ever win enough to get them?

That doesn't make sense.
I'm losing rank, for winning games. I mean, I doubt anyone who played SFIV has ever lost BP for winning a fight.

That black deck seems really powerful.
Granted, I've only played the campaign stuff, but I feel unstoppable with the black deck. :x

Sig, it's a rating, not a ranking. Magic in general (this game being no exception) uses a rating system that starts at a number and goes up with good performance and down with bad ones. Once you realize it's a rating and not a ranking, you'll see that your number skyrocketed into the 1600s, rather than dropping. 1600 is actually pretty impressive (though admittedly somewhat easier to attain on XBLA than in the RL DCI ratings).

1600 is a better rank than 1000 if it's anything like the rating system used for chess players. Lots of games use systems like that. It's not a "what rank are you" thing. Your score is figured out based on the rating of the person you beat/were beaten by. It's actually pretty efficient.

Where are you getting these numbers? The little ranking thing says my score is 17.
Also, do you credit for a victory when someone leaves early? I don't think I've ever had someone stay to the end of the game if I was winning well.
By 1600 he means he is 1600th out of all XBLA players on MTG, being 1000th is higher up on the ladder. I have lost only one match and hover around the 5000th zone. so 1600th is pretty far up there.
I spent the vast majority of a game last night with two land. Against the black deck, which means that by the time I had land and I had no damn card to use.
So frustrating. So just like the real thing, I suppose.
I want to love the RBG dragon deck, I do, but holy god damn shit balls is it frustrating rolling against the Monoblack deck. You'll never get enough mana or cards to do anything.
Kinda like anything rolling against that black deck.

I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

I want to complain that this game has far too many enchantments and artifacts, and almost none of the decks have any way to remove them.
That blue deck in the campaign kept annoying the fuck out of me by putting all my cards back in my hand and forcing me to discard a bunch, or just negating every damn thing I did.
I finally beat it... by doing 74 points of damage in one turn. SUCK IT!

That what's the blue deck gets for not countering the overrun.
I actually like the blue deck for ranked play. One of favorite tactics is to boomerang land when it is obvious they are getting land screwed.
the last battle in co-op is ridonkulous. I steamrolled through most of the others using red/blue combo but I'm pretty stuck on this one. Switched to blue green but I never seem to draw any of the anti-artifact shit.
Im having trouble against white and green in co-op campaign.
We played 5 times... the closest was getting him down to 3 health, and the worst was over while he had more than 50 .
Weve got the best results using Black and Blue mono decks, maybe the 6th time is a charm?
Also its pretty funny that the AI oftentimes would rather lose the game entirely instead of sacrifice his douchy 1/1 Pyromancer.
I've noticed that, the AI definitely lacks perspective sometimes about what's important at any given time.
I like the red-white-green deck, it combines cards that I like from the other decks pretty nicely. I especially like that godsire but every time I've played it it immediately gets destroyed or unsummoned, which makes me cry
Has anyone had success with the blue deck? I've only ever lost one match against it and that was when his draw was perfect and mine was the shits.

Blue gets a lot stronger with cards that are outside the 'basic' level the game is invoking. Mulldrifter, Riftwing Cloudskate, The Command. Problem is, in order: evoke, suspend, modular.
Even allowing it to pull the traditional blue methodology of "4x several counters, 4x unsummon, 4x boomerang, lots of (instant or cheap) draw spells, and a very small amount of powerful, evasive creatures" would be a huge benefit. Of course, people would hate it.
Oi. The tri-colour decks really overdo the land. And then when you do draw a spell it's a bloody land fetcher!
Also black deck seems to be the new elf deck online. 90% of online matches last night were against it. The other 10% were elves.
the black deck is pretty ridiculous with its enchantments and artifacts that only one or two decks can counter.
everyone else just gets to just count down untiil they die from drawing cards and also die from playing cards and maybe die from not playing cards, too.

Considering it's only 800 points... it's a fantastic buy.

It's not a real black deck unless you can double Dark Ritual and Juzam Djinn + Unholy Strength on turn 1.
Wait, I take that back.
It's not a real black deck unless you can Dark Ritual + Sinkhole + Black Vise on turn 1. Because that's how I roll.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

Play some super-easy custom matches?

Because if not, I would like to confirm that DLC is on the way.

I look forward to more decks in this fine slice of gaming pie.
DLC: Additional lands
I expect each deck to cost the same as the original game ($10) and to be more powerful than the eight decks available.
DLC announces 4 decks. Ravager Affinity, Astral Slide, Long.Dec, and Turbo-Stasis.
Well. My interest is officially lost. How the hell are any of the other decks going to compete with a deck like Ravager Affinity?
This is batshit retarded.
... Sorry, my post was sarcastic.
Besides, Long.Dec was a 1st turn kill in T1 (Now Vintage, or Legacy. One of the ones I never played). It would wreck ravager affinity.
Ah. Well.
...I wouldn't put it past Wizards of the Coast.
