Using My 360 Controller On My PC

I just bought Prototype on Steam and, while the keyboard/mouse controls are fine, I'd like to try playing it with my 360 controller.
The official Microsoft dongle seems to be available from precious few sources (Newegg lists it as a discontinued item), so I was wondering if anyone knows of any other options that I can use, outside of buying an entirely new gamepad.
I'm running XP Professional 64bit, for what it's worth.
Alternately, looks like you could get one of the dongle's thru ebay for 25-40, depending on luck... but I'd just get the wired gamepad. No batteries required and all.

Seconding the wired 360 route, check their site for compatibility with XP 64. I am using one on Vista64 and it works flawlessly, connects to the 360 just fine when I need it, and has a cord long enough to strangle an elephant, which is very important.
