Remember Jack Thompson? Here's his PS2.

My drunk friends convinced me to create a forum profile on this site in order to show you this.

I bought Jack Thompson's book around 6 months ago, or whenever it was that he got disbarred. As a way to celebrate the moment, I was going to turn his book into a Playstation 2. I started the project, but let it languish on the shelf for months. Today I finally sucked it up and put the thing together. It's still a little rough, but its all there and it works. Here is the Jack Thompson Playstation 2.

http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9246/jackoplugged.jpg
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1701/jackorunning.jpg

There are still some gaping holes on the thing, and the front cover doesn't close correctly (as you can see in picture 4, with the cell phone over Jack's face). Still, I'm proud of my work. I don't know if anybody else has done this before, but I got a kick out of it.

So there it is. I know Jack Thompson hasn't been relevant for a long time, but I figured the Penny Arcade community would love to see it. Enjoy.

Man, that is absolutely amazing. I hope the first game you played was GTA3.

I actually forgot to say that the first game I played on it was GTA3. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is there because afterwards me and my friends wanted to have some old-school fun.

    This is amazing.

I remember in my Junior year of highschool I took Speech and one of the assignments was to give a speech about current news topics, so I chose Jack Thompson, one of the more interesting things I got to discuss in that class.

I think you mean Praystation 2.

It' is funny because it is a clever parody of Thompson's shenanigans and also because it is Engrish.

    Get it?

    Do you get it?

That is the best thing I have ever seen.

Incidentally, also a better use of the material wasted to make that book.

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

Be sure to get a pic of it with GTA running in the background to send to ol' JT.

I just hate the fact that you bought the book, which gives him money and in a round about way legitimizes his "crusade". Anyway, I think what you did is pretty cool.

Also, does anyone else think he looks a little like Jon Stewart on the cover? He has that same look on his face that Jon makes on the daily show when trying not to laugh.

That's because even JT thinks his "videogame crusade gimmick" is funny.

For those of you who are complaining that I gave money to Jack, trust me, I didn't. I bought the book used on Amazon. Including shipping, the book cost me 7 bucks. When I got it, I could tell it was a library book, since it had one of those card things on it. I could also tell that the book was checked out a grand total of ZERO times.

This is like a revolution for the 'hiding stuff in books' movement.

Oh man, he should find Jack Thompson, pretend to read it in front of him, then plug it in and start playing GTA San Andrea 'Hot Coffee Mode' on it.
