Damn, seems like Auto has a pretty strong following.

I loved all three. They're absolutely great, but I would love to see The Lookouts more than anything else.

I knew he was going to kill her by panel 2. Well, at least he didn't saw her apart or something like that.

I don't really know if I'd like a Lookouts or an Automata series better. Lookouts has a great concept and great art, but Automata is setting-wise so well outside their usual work that I'm interested in what they would do.

I'd like this comic if it wasn't such a blatant rip-off of Fritz Lang's Die Nieblungen.

Yeah, I really can't see much I dislike from any of the three.
I think Lookouts is my favorite, but all 3 seem great

Agreed. Seemed kind of lazy in terms of concept and art in comparison to the other two. Way more campy/comic. Automata is the most interesting to me in terms of depth; The Lookouts looks too cute.

I'm torn between the three comics.

To me, Lookouts is the most visually appealing, Automata is the most mysterious, but I love DnD and thought the podcasts were awesome, and I want to get to know Jim Darkmagic better. Gah!

none of these three can be called lazy
what is wrong with you people?
it's the least best of the three

that hardly makes it bad, or lazy

    Ain't nothing wrong with cute.

All I have to say...this explains why Jim had to get into Adventuring. Dude's a Wizard. Needed to be a bard...oh wait. Nevermind I'd rather not have the audience screaming out of the theater with psychic damage.

I think if Jim Darkmagic was a DnD character, he would have a skill called "Haaaste!" that would allow him to run really fast after killing someone by accident.

    Also, I vote Automata.

I thought he was trying to cast a Haste spell at the end, or is that not in D&D?

Funny, great art, but I still think I'm sticking with Lookouts.

Still, very awesome for Gabe and Tycho to do this and give us the choice. Whichever one is chosen, I'm sure it'll be worth seeing.

I think Tycho should just start writing a Lookouts book for young fantasy readers. Could be incredible. Automata would make an excellent graphic novel.

    Going to go with Automata.

Someone else here said it, and I agree. I feel that Jim Darkmagic and the Lookouts style have been done by PA. Not saying that they wouldn't be awesome, but I'm certainly all about engorging myself on new styles of both writing and drawing from Mike and Jerry.

This was funny, but not really fair to pit it against the other two.

Also his carriage driver looked like the lady he killed and i got confused.

    Lookouts, and then the Law-bot.

I like Jim simply because I like PA more for humor then the dark graphic novel feel. Also, Automata felt too much like I, Robot meets Bladerunner for me.

Now Jim Darkmagic killing young maidens accidentally is good stuff.

Yeah, count me in those that think this was just a hard act to follow. This was a funny comic, and I enjoyed it. But I have no desire to see more of it, as opposed to Automata or Lookouts.

I'll be voting for Automata. That's a story I want to see fleshed out.

This is pretty much my take on it.

Though I can't say I'd be opposed to them doing a dark graphic novel that has nothing to do with PA.

I really enjoy the Jim strip and the D&D podcasts. The only problem I've ever had with D&D is people trying to make it too much like a bad improv acting class. I wish I could find people to play with who were like Gabe/Tycho/Kurtz but everyone wants to be Wil Wheaton serious actor, epic drama guy. I guess I'm not big on living the story just playing in it
