Can't connect to XBOX live....

So, it was working yesterday, but now I can't get on. At first I thought it was a router problem, or a connection problem, but everything is plugged in fine, rebooted the modem and everything. I still can't connect to XBOX Live though, and it's getting annoying.

I tested my connection, it said that the network was fine, the internet was fine, but would not connect to Live. When I hit 'more info' it told me something about MTU settings.

Anyone have any clue?

    It's down for today.

    Microsoft should have sent you a message about it being offline for maintenance.

    Yeah check your messages. Microsoft sends out messages on Live before an outage. Which happens to be today for up to 24 hours.

    Oh really? Shit.

    Guess I have to start a new character in Mass Effect, won't let me load my save because of downloadable content problems that I assume were cause by not getting onto Live.

    Theres been messages from XBL as well as advertisements saying it was coming down. Also, why would you start a new character? You just wait a day and it will be back up and running?

    I wonder why they took it down today? Is it just for regular ol maintenance? Or do you think they are going to add something to the dash? Perhaps an update for 1 VS 100?

    Or, please god, they are fixing the horrible lag in the menus?

    Not gonna happen. why? They have to do their product placement. Microsoft has to get paid for their gold service that they charge for.
