Aye, I'll likely resubscribe for a month myself, just to give it another spin. The graphical changes look lovely, and I've always wanted to try EATs (but could never stand playing blueside to 50).

I played DP a bit in beta. I think it was pretty fun, but I'm not the kind of player who obsesses over DPS or whatever.

I didn't think it was very slow personally. Low damage may have some truth to it, but I would assume that is the trade-off for the versatility of damage types and secondary effects. The animations are pretty great.

I've heard the cries of under powered but honestly I wonder what they're comparing it to. Compare to the fail that in AR, Dual Pistols is complete and utter win.

I imagine the same people crying about it being underpowered based solely on the numbers are the same people who will tell you that picking up Build Up is a bad idea because it lowers your DPS.

It still boggles my mind that I saw people logging into beta and telling everyone how much it sucked "by the numbers" and admitting to not even trying the set out. But I also had someoen tell me DP was the worst set in the game and that he was going to log-off and go play CO, so I had a pretty good idea what his opinion was worth.

Setting aside the people who started 3 weeks ago, this is shameful.

I always gave up around 41.

I don't have a 50 on blue because blueside is terrible

    QFT

I have hero side 50's generally because I know people who commit acts of agriculture. Well and because I have an awesome RP SG to level with. I generally get to 41 on a hero and want to knife myself in the eye, this is if I managed to survive the slog to 20.

Woo, paper missions and sewer runs. *twirls finger*

Leveling a DP/NRG blaster in beta to 16 before the first bump reminded me of why I will never, ever, roll another hero that starts in Paragon. I want to roll a DP blaster, but I'll be waiting till july.

So you tell me to QFT for saying blueside is terrible and then spend the rest of your post saying that blueside is terrible. Good show.

I honestly don't know where the hell QFT as Quit Fucking Talking ever came out from. I've never seen it used like that until a couple of years back, and I just chalked it up to someone not knowing what it meant and just coming up with their own meaning for the acronym.

Yes I meant quite fucking true (aka quoted for truth). I'd honestly never heard of quit fucking talking.

    From pohsyb:
Emails can be sent to local as well as global names now.

Emails with attachments can only be sent to a Global name.

Valid attachments are Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item.

There will be 20 mail cap to inbox. Mails sent to full mailbox will bounce (bounced mails can exceed cap). If you are at the cap you cannot send mails.

Items with attachments cannot be deleted until attachment is claimed. They can be returned to sender.

Well that's quite handy. Still no mailing things cross faction, however. If you try and claim a thing your hero mailed, you'll be able to see the email but you'll get an error message. I really wish they'd go ahead and implement some kind of reason for that already.

That's only handy if they've actually managed to do something about the spammers. Granted, it's been a while for me, but I remember having to delete 3 dozen spam mails every time I logged in.

It's great that they're doing something with e-mail to make it useful (for non-spammers) though.

Well, ive been looking around at MMO's lately.

After some review, i settled back into CoX. I have a friend or two playing, and I have some old level 20 ish characters.

I do have to say, i love the new powersets. Shields for Brutes is fucking awesome. Same with Brutes getting carry overs from Heroes.

And power customization aint too shabby either. Basically they are turning CoX into what i wanted CO to be.

I would be playing now, but maintenance is going on in like 9 minutes.

As someone else mentioned you and lock it down to your friends list only now or off completely. Though from the sound of some dev posts it seems they revisited the email system entirely. Mailing to a global is something we couldn't do and even the friends lock down only applied to your local friends list.

But I haven't gotten RMT spam in ages since i set my email to friends only or off entirely.

Made a trial account to play around with Dual Pistols. Seems pretty fun, but I think the animations are a bit overdone. I suspect this may be a set that looks fast due to all the twirling and movement the power animations have, but is probably not actually all that fast in activation times.

It's under the power customization screen. There's not many sets that have alternate animations, I think just super strength and martial arts.

So I've been waiting for all the new cool additions that came recently and the stuff still to come to grab my by the balls and drag me back in (ouch). But as cool as everything is its just not happening. I've played for just under 3 years and been out for well over 90+ days and I can't see myself coming back. The clincher was the e-mail saying I can play for free in a couple weeks with double XP and I have no desire to even do that.

Now this isn't a "I'm quitting" post as much as it is a question about selling accounts. I know this is done in WoW frequently, but does it happen in CoX? Found nothing on eBay when checking if there's a market for it, which leads me to believe there isn't one. I've never sold or bought an account before so have little to no idea bout how its done other then NCSoft doesn't like it, for understandable reasons. But I thought if I can give all my characters and vet rewards a good home, what harm is it if I make a couple bucks?

    Am I a bad person?

So i17's graphical updates are just lighting and shadows? No textures and whatnot?

Reflections are a big thing, will affect windows, water, shiny costume pieces. I think other textures are getting upgrades too, if you can find the preview on whatever page that was he does a bit of before/after with turning UM on and off.

Looking at those picks and I can definitely see a good difference. The shadows add a lot to it and the water looks a lot nicer.
