My Blackadder boxed set gets watched more often than anything in my DVD collection that isn't Arrested Development. Such a fantastic show.

Long ago, when I was in middle school, my brother got the scripts for all of Blackadder

I must've read it 200 times before I ever saw the series

I still have half of it memorized

I actually found Nighty Nighty was a bit too much black with a bit too little comedy. It was good, but there's a point at which "isn't what she's saying awful?" isn't cringe comedy, it's just cringing. Also Kevin Eldon is in it and he's up there with the worst journeyman comics in England today.
I get that too. The scene where Cathy buys Jill jewellery is horrible. But I don't tend to come out thinking 'oh man this is too bad I can't laugh at this'. I still enjoy it, if you know what I mean.

That was the specific scene that I was thinking of in fact. It's a good show, but I honestly wouldn't watch it again and have no desire to seek out season 2. I think I made a mistake in watching it all in one chunk.

    I re-watched Spaced recently.

I love that show so goddamn much.

Best British Sitcom ever made in my opinion, and anyone who hasn't seen really needs to see it.

Nice job on going for a year.

Start with the ninth doctor episode "Rose". If you finish his stuff in addition to the tenth, watch some of the older stuff.

Probably the best place would be the start of the modern-day series. Doesn't really bog one down in having to know what went on before.

Fandy, I'm too lazy to read the thread to see if you've see it, but if you haven't you should watch Man To Man With Dean Learner. It has Dean Learner hosting a talk show thing with a special guest each episode. It's fantastic. All the episodes are up on Youtube. The first episode has Garth Marenghi in it.

Nina's eyes popped out of what was left of her back. Why, oh why, had she opened tomb? The sand turned red. This was because she was bleeding on it. Blood; ruby red blood - her blood. Blood. And piss and shit. This was the worst day of her life.

I quit once because my parents made me but I haven't tried since

It's like, I want to fiduciarily, lung-iarily, etc

But I just can't imagine waking up without a smoke, or eating a meal, or doing anything

that takes a while to wear off

i was making myself sick again, and i wasn't even enjoying smokes anymore really, so i thought "why the fuck am I even doing this?"

and then i kept thinking that for a while until it stuck

cigarettes were a burden and i actually wanted to quit, so it worked

    No it was genuinely awful

What else was awful: Merlin, and the latest Robin Hood (although I do applaud the realism in that show)

    But yeah

Sometimes my tastes are baffling even to myself

Like, I saw the Godfather for the first time last year. And I loved it; it was amazing as it has been proclaimed to be and it's definitely one of my favourite movies

I was so stoked to watch Part II

    And...eh, I haven't even finished watching it

    But they're so similar!

I wasn't so drawn in by the switching between the two stories
