So immediately after posting about having so much trouble with beating that first hunter fight, I got past it.

Two things I didn't realize: 1., that I could activate my shield while still having the claws active, and 2. I don't know how to dodge roll. I always miss those kinds of things.

I only died once on the first Hunter mission. The second time I totally missed where the objective changed to 'blow up the fuel tanks with rockets' and I kept fighting for a good 15 minutes, then realized what I needed to do.

God for some reason I just read the Crispy Gamer review (or some of it). Don't.

He apparently didn't like the game giving him the statistics of people killed and military damages and stuff. "Like it mattered." Wow.

So I think my 360 is dying.

I installed this to the HDD as soon as I got it, and I had never seen a single loading screen except when I first start the game or when it loads a cinematic.

Now I'm getting 5-10 second loading screens at random points cruising through the city, and whenever I hit pause.

    Ahahaha, I just realized

Dead Rising's original Zombie Genocider Achievement: Kill 53,594 Zombies (The town's population in the game)

Then, Left 4 Dead's Zombie Genocidest Achievement: Kill 53,595 Infected

What difficulty are you playing? I didn't have much trouble wiping out the hunters with armour and blade, using that leaping blade attack against the leaders. The hydra can be hit with cars or divebombings.

Get in one of the tanks when the hydras show up.

    Blow up the hydras.

Don't forget to drop artillery blasts on the hydras when you have some.

Yeah, for the pump truck mission I never spent more than 5 seconds outside of a military vehicle. Remember that if you're disguised, you can jack a tank and nobody will care.

Oh right, I thought he meant the bit where you're on foot with the military perimeter set up in Time Square. Never had any trouble with the previous one. Just stayed in front of the thing in my tank and the hydras threw things at me.

I just jacked a tank and used that for the duration of the mission. In the second part, if you hide back and kite the stuff that comes it was pretty easy. Trying to do it on foot was impossible though.

Did you buy the mid-air recovery move? I can't imagine anybody being stupid enough not to. That said i can't imagine having any problems with that mission, the military will focus on the infected and hydra's and just leave you alone. I just ran along the rooftops keep parallel with the toxin truck and air slashing the hydras with the arm blade when they attacked.

Also don't stop to attack every single tentacle, unless they're marked with a red skull they won't attack the toxin truck, they'll just go after the military escort.

The toxin truck and the last boss are the only missions I genuinely dislike. I died several times on each. They're very badly done. Just as bad as the last abom fight in hulk imo.

The sense of accomplishment I normally get after something challenging in this game was instead a sense of relief.

Mind you I loved the boss after the toxin truck so that soothed away my pains. Any boss where the best strategy is to run up skyscrapers to beat is a-ok in my book.

(I don't like tanks, they're boring as hell, so I prefer missions where I can beat them with powers, which is why I just ran around eating until I could critical pain everything. Eat my frustration bitches.)

I'm having trouble with Clear Cutting. The blade is too slow so the strategy I used for claws is not useful.

And even though I'm dirtnapping the hunters and moving on they still keep interrupting attacks since the blade is so slow.

And there are cars everywhere to prvent the blade dash. What a weird mission, I can't work out what they want me to do. Is there a nice little path somewhere I should blade frenzy up? all the good zombie clumps are really far from the starting area.

This is why I dislike the blade except for specific tasks, but now my lack of experience is biting me in the ass since all I really know how to use properly is the air blade.

You know the trick how enemies tend to keep spawning behind your back? run forward down a street into a bunch of them, and cut up a bunch with the Y/Triangle slash thing until they start thinning. Then turn around and repeat. When a hunter attacks you, you should be able to take them down pretty quickly as you kill other zombies, the blade is great for collateral damage.

Many of the "evolution points" are supposed to be spent on upgrading powers, or improving jump range, or giving you a second air jump, or even unlocking simple combat moves like "press X while airborn". But there were very few I ever needed, much less felt compelled to play with. It's a poorly designed game that's based on a box of superfluous toys.

Using Muscle Mass and the basic combo moves is fun, but there's really a limited amount of enemies you can use it on, i.e. - the Hunter. Humans die in one hit, so there isn't much point to comboing them into an uppercut, aircombo, and ground spike. And most of the time Hunters don't seem to get knocked into the air by the uppercut. Grrr. Game needs wider variety of enemies.

Anyone beaten the game on Hardmode yet? I wanna know if the Hardmode complete freeroaming world has

Muscle mass is for helicopter ownage and making bulletdrop and elbow drop ridiculous. Seriously musclemass bulletdrop needs to be in the op because it's the most powerful ground attack in the entire game with serious aoe and it alone makes muscle mass worth every single ep.

I don't really stick with any one power I switch a lot. Except for claws. I'm sure it's a great power but if I need whatever it does I prefer to switch to the power that does it better.

Although charged spiking a tank four storeys into the air when it dies is pretty hilarious. One day I'm going to see if you can make it knock a helicopter out of the sky. :D

edit: Whoever gave that tip for fire in the sky, thank you very much. Made that event so easy.

The tip was to hover along the shoreline with the rockets and blow up everything since every pedestrian that spawns in a kill infected mission is a zombie.

I just found out you can dive roll out of being knocked down in armor form.

So tap dash, you'll diveroll and end up a fair distance away.
Basically, tapping dash is still a good idea in armor regardless.
If knocked off wall, dash back onto it.
If hit by a rocket, diveroll (it reduces the damage of the next one in a chain and you can diveroll again when knocked down.).
Hunter attack? mash dash because you'll either skip out between their attacks or one of them will knock you down and you can diveroll.
Got hit while doing a jump and flying backwards? Airdash. (Since you are conditioned to hitting diveroll this is automatic. :D) This even gets you some automatic ground speed boost for a while.

Armor isn't as bad as I thought, just need to expect to be hit and react to it calmly instead of the more evasive stuff in shield. And don't even TOUCH jump. Charge it and wait, only tap dash to dive roll out of being knocked down to reduce your damage. Be patient, armor is tough and diveroll is reducing a fair bit of the damage. Soon as you are on your feet, jump. Mashing jump gets you nowhere.

Oh and if you are groundspiking something a tank shell can hit you in armor form and you wont move. I dunno bought shield.

Like all forms, if a strike team is called, you need to choose to fight it or run. There's even a hint text to this effect. I think the reason I don't have much trouble with infinite rocket spam is that I always kill strike teams. Been conditioned by Hulk.

Bouncing tanks with ground spike is fun. Run up right next to it to charge it.

I dunno bout end game I'm halfway through my new game + atm but there are strike teams with rockets and single abrams.

Blade drop is the same since you don't need any height to one shot with blade drop.

Shit you can just fly kick a tank then charged blade drop bam its dead.

Does anybody have any advice for Amongst the Clouds and Central Points (?) It starts in the park with the Armour kill missions. I can get a silver in Amongst the Clouds but i always screw up on the last stretch of the race, best i've managed there is a silver with 6 seconds out.

Central Points is just kicking the living crap out of me and i've never done better than getting a bronze about 5 seconds out from a silver on that.
