Platinum is doable. I only needed tips on 2 events, one to help me realize that random goober non-marked infected count toward my kill total and another for "Raid" to help me realize that I should stay on the ground, strafe and keep the hunters away from the tank.
Most of my kill events got upgraded once I got the Gold achievement. It's the movement events I can't be doing with. Though I can see the War events being troublesome too, especially that Super Soldier one.
Grind the bones was particularly annoying for me. 120 infected with hammer fist, and if you dont run out into the street right at the start the marked guy spawn on the other side of some buildings far away from the starting point.
SO much fun during a timed event.

I love this game, but I did feel like it was missing something important
The movement and glide events were the easiest for me. I spent all game running all over the city so by the time Platinum was unlocked I could just breeze through them with seconds to spare. One important thing to realize is that airdashing is really, really fast, and gliding is slow. Keep low to the ground and dash as much as possible. If you make giant leaps, you're going to be hurting on time as you need to slowly get back to ground again in order to get more airdashes.
As for Grind the Bones, always make sure you're fighting in a big crowd of unmarked guys. They give you lots of points even when the marked people are still getting there. Once you clean up one crowd of unmarked infected, hop and airdash over to another one, and all the marked guys will follow you, for maximum AOE carnage.

This game is goddamn bullshit. I'm on this mission where I have to protect a pump from a countless amount of hunters, and the phase I'm stuck at is two of those tentacle fucks and two of the super hunter things. Attacking them once will make them draw their attention on me, but the military damages them for SHIT. So I have to try and kill them too - but if I do that, the others will go back to attacking the pump and eventually kill it. Fuck this game.

The Tendril Devastator doesn't damage the pump, I don't think.
Even if it does, if you get in front of the Hunter waves before they rush the pump and fire off the Devastator, all the tentacles will impale the Hunters and the pump will be out of range.
As for the tentacles, your best bet is either the Critical Pain Devastator or chucking stuff at them with Muscle Mass.

First time around if anything looked like it was even dreaming of being a pain in the ass I would air critical pain it and it would roll over and beg like a puppy.
And then I would eat it and do the same to its buddy.
None of your devastators hurt the pump. Air critical pain will bring a leader hunter down to consumable and the tentacle mobs down to 1/4 health. Tendril clears monsters off the pump.

Jump up above them and charge Air Critical Pain while locked onto them. Don't stay on the ground.
I hope you bought it.
If you didn't, try picking up a rocket launcher from the ground, should be a few lying around from soldiers. Jump above them and shoot them with it.
When they get down to consumable, if you have the longshot grab, grab them with the whip to zip over to them and then hammer the consume button while you are shooting over there and you should get a guaranteed consume for maximum health. Then you can do a devastator on the other one.
This is the last ditch I didn't get any devastators and don't have blade drop strategy:
Jump above them and do the charged whipfist special attack to whittle them down. I think it does around a 1/4 or a 1/5th per charge.

I actually hopped in a tank and blasted the bastids. It wasn't as bad as you might think. The first time I died because of the stupid A.I constantly driving in front of me causing my tank to continually face the sky. The second time I shot the bastard A.I that dared come in my way..... but I guess they must have sense my anger because none of them did

If he's still paused on the final checkpoint all the tanks nearby are probably dead and he wont have time to go get another one.
It's a good strategy at the start. A better one is to grab a tank, stash it empty to the side and tendril the hunter packs while dressed as a soldier. Then when the bigger fish come out hop back in your tank. It should still be okay if you stashed it out of range of the devastators.
You can just stand on the pump to tendril anything that comes near it.

I find myself severely disappointed by hammertoss for two reasons: one, I cannot seem to fly as far as most of the hammertoss footage I've seen, and two, it is not as devestating as I'd hoped. I skipped bullet dive for this, thinking it was more my style. It's turned out to be pretty lackluster. I dunno, maybe I'm doin' it wrong.
I'm completely disillusioned by the sheer destructive power of air blade, which utterly annihilates anything it touches. A quick jump and I've stunned a hunter for eating. Charge for a split second and any tank is toast. Sure it's pretty fun... the first couple times. I was kinda expecting to use my powers with more variety, like specific powers excel in specific situations (e.g., hammer fists should be killer against armor), but blade just kind of takes over for all attack powers.
Oh well, still enjoying the hell out of this game.
First impression after 10 minutes? If you don't smile after taking out a tank with an elbow drop, you are not a human being. :^:
Played for a bit and then reached the bit where you fight the hunters, and... what? Ok, I kill the first one with rockets, and then get some claws, which I would naturally assume means "haha fuckers, it's party time". But another one drops down, and they do complete shit for damage. I barely manage to take that one down, then three more come down and I'm told to blow up the tanks. Which again take complete shit for damage. I eventually get raped when all three gang up and stun me into a corner and die before I'm finished destroying one tank. I don't even have time to try and consume for health, because they just swarm on you and that health is gone in one hit. I've bought the shield power, and that only lasts a couple of hits at best.
Game has almost pissed away whatever joy I was previously experiencing. But I'm going to assume I'm doing something obviously wrong here that any moron could figure out? What's the magic code that gets through this?

At that point in the game you're not ready to fight multiple hunters like that. Run around, airdash all over the place, keep running around until you can pick up a rocket launcher and blow up the tanks. Once you get them all blown up, everything will die.

Oh believe me, I'm holding Y. Holding it for as long as possible. He still doesn't seem to travel that far (hard for me to compare it to something, but it doesn't seem longer than the distance of two quick air dashes). The videos of seen show him going much further. The damage also sucks. Only takes about 2/3 of a tank's hitpoints.
Why hammertoss when air blade only needs a fraction of a charge to completely obliterate a tank?
I'm getting mighty sick of strike teams. Ok, if you see someone phoning a team kill them, sounds like a good game mechanic in theory except a call takes 2 seconds, literally every soldier can do it and as soon as one strike teams dead someone calls another.
With canonball and skyhook they arent too hard to kill, but they would just be so much less irritating if there was a cooldown period between getting them. Plus my WoI guys keep getting caught in the crossfire.

They get to me too sometimes, so usually halfway through a destructothon playsession I go kill a base since that stops them for a while.
By the time they come back I've usually had my fill of random destruction for the day and go do something else.
I have a playfile where I've only got a few story missions to go on a new game +, I load that up the most since strike teams only come that often after all the story missions are done.
I like the hammerfists because they stun tanks (stops them moving) without any charge on the normal combo, go through blocks, almost every move is large aoe, gives you mobility in armor and looks badass. Just feels satisfying to use and there are lots of little tricks to mess around with purely for fun. Like, eg, catching a ride on a chopper while it's flying away on its little strafing run, then when it turns around you let go and elbow drop on top of it and laugh. This works with blade but blade doesn't travel up as far so it often misses.
Purely a mess around power.
For absolute efficiency versus armored targets its blade of course, naturally, no argument. For example in my hard mode run, I got blade drop first.
Fully upgraded musclemass and bulletdive does more damage with a huge aoe but is more manual and you need to get a bit of height. I don't have a problem with this, and so I think muscle mass is the strongest power versus everything in the game in general purely based on not having a problem with the height requirement. But blade is the most efficient versus tanks if you don't want to bother with jumping and running on walls, etc.
It's up to you really.

Protip: to hammertoss a far distance target something that is actually far.
What about my previous posts made you assume I wasn't doing that?
I can target a tank three blocks away, fully charge hammertoss, and Alex will still fall well short of the target. I wouldn't even say a fully charged hammer toss takes me the full length of a city block.
Hammertoss only goes really far when you're not targeted on anything, but the Hammerfists in general get screwed compared to other powers.
I haven't tried not targetting something. I've give that a whirl and see what happens. Regardless, it does seem that hammer firsts are pretty lackluster at the end of the day. Oh well, still enjoying the game. Not having played H:UD I'm a little confused by power design sometimes.

You know, I do miss things about Hulk from this game
Like being able to pick up long things like trees and lamp posts and use them as baseball bats, and being able to use a car as a shield by holding it in front of you, and being able to slam the car down on the ground as a ground pound kind of attack
On the last boss, I managed to disguise and end the alert. Queue a bunch of marines and choppers focusing their fire on one big, ugly target. Had full health going into the countdown.
what
Did this on my second attempt. On my first try, I ran out of time and got pissed that there wasn't a checkpoint. So I looked for an alternative to repeating the whole fight.
Jumped over the side and disguised while gliding, the instant I broke line of sight. That ended the alert, and put all the attention of the military on the boss while I jumped around in the water. At one point, I even got under an overhang and was able to put down the controller while Alex kept banging his head into the ship and dropping back into the water.
After a few minutes, the marines and choppers had done enough damage to start the timer, and I jumped back on the deck to finish the fight. Musclemass and some random thrown objects, game over.

Just wanted to point out that if you have a car in your hands and get shot by a rocket or tank shell quite often the car blows up to pieces but you are fine. It's pretty reliable if you are facing the thing you want to block.
I noticed that when trying to throw things they would blow it up in Alexes hands.
So I started picking up anything I happened to brush past just to get a bit of moving shield while I was repositioning myself for various whatevers. Just on default if I brush past something pick it up. When I wanted to attack something I would throw it anyway as a bonus. Sometimes this picks up mens which I throws anyway because hey sometimes they take a rocket for ya. :^:
Also big things make really handy infantry ploughs, especially tank wrecks, just run through the pack of infantry and if you get shot it'll take the damage.
I miss grinding on vehicles down the street the most. Also golf. I miss golf.

Welp, I beat the game
That last boss fight is completely trivial if you a) disguise and end the military alert against you b) never stop moving and c) pick up missile launchers and guns and shoot the hunter with them
It's a little hard at the end but just use musclemass and chuck some tomahawks at him and bam, that's the end
I really liked the presentation of the story and the Web of Intrigue and all that (though I think the actual web should have been sort of important, I never actually use that menu at all), but I'm not exactly sure what happened there: I forgot that Cross showed up as infected in an earlier cutscene, so that bit took me by surprise, but is he Pariah? Because that's what I took from the cutscenes and everything
Also the whole Dana subplot goes completely unresolved. Is she dead or not or what?
Anyway, liked it a lot, missing a few things from Hulk that I felt would have added something (using cars as shields/melee weapons, using trees as baseball bats, choke slamming robots), and some of the moves are pointless and some are too powerful and everything, but they're all fun to use and god damn it that's what's most important
