    Monroe, that struck me as wrong as well, because I had only ever heard "reflects poorly on."

    So, rather than jump to conclusions, I looked it up.

    Guess what?

    "Reflects badly on" is a perfectly legitimate idiom.

    that's because "badly" is an adverb, while "bad" is an adjective

    if you wanted to adverb it, you could say "speak English goodly," but that's a little out of place
