I need to know if the Japanese release has any kind of subtitles or english translation. I doubt it, since the demographic it's aimed at in the western hemisphere is pretty import-savvy and bandai wouldn't want to lose revenue, but I wanted to know for sure.

    According to everything I've read, the Japanese release doesn't have any English Subtitles and Bandai actually sent a press release threatening fansub groups not to subtitle it or they will face legal action. It's getting an English release in 2007, so it looks like you're stuck waiting for a legal copy until then.

    there are subtitle files available. i watched it with english subs last month.
