Hey, I haven't played Magic in years and have recently I've been thinking about getting back into it. I never knew about Magic Online, but this looks really appealing to me. My only concern is how hardcore the player base is for this. I don't mind doing what I need to get started and buying boosters here and there, but I'm not going to spend an ungodly amount of money on this and am not planning on buying singles at the moment. I'm far more of a casual gamer.
I know there will be a large group of hardcore guys for this, but is there a game for me here too or do I need not apply?

Do apply! There are plenty of non-hardcore ways to play, like sealed deck or pauper (commons only). Our upcoming M10 (the new core set) sealed deck league in August should be a perfect way to play some fun games, familiarize yourself with current cardsets, and learn the MTGO interface (which does take some doing.)
So have we come up with a game plan for m10 league pack opening? I have a reborn pack sitting around I was thinking about just opening or buying the other 2 block packs and drafting with, but will just sit on it if we are opening other non m10 packs in league.

I figure trading is sort of busted this week, since some people are going into the playoffs and some can't so one could work out some shady deals for bombs. Not that winning our league gets you anything but a sweet sig picture and bragging rights.
Chaos I really think you should sell everyone getting into the next league 10 lands for 2 tickets at the begining. :winky: Maybe they would be willing so sell them back to you (at a mark up) at the end of the league.

I don't care who does it, someone just trade me a freaking bomb. Things I want, roughly in order:
Basically cards that should resolve and win me the game. My deck is fast and controlly but lacks the "BOOSH YOU'RE DONE" card to drive it home. Anyone who has something lower on the list but also has fun cards that I would like (Court Homunculus, Ethersworn Shieldmage, Sanctum Gargoyle) will get bonus consideration.
I've got an inkwell leviathan i'm not particularly attached to, but we're both looking for the same cards I think. I'm looking for some Masters, Canonists, Transmuters, and Path to Exile.
As for expanding my library of cards I keep feeling torn between buying tickets to just get exactly what I need or buying boosters and playing in drafts/sealed... opening new packs is just so fun, but then I end up feeling like I should have just bought tickets.

It's in league sir. I actually have all of those out of league already.

Sorry madam. I can see how that would be misconstrued, the not caring was in reference towards Unsane's SHADY DEALS supposition.

meta didn't update the front page to reflect the round data page. Lemme fix that for you.
As a side note, if you ever see yourself facing the same person two weeks in a row, check the other tab for "round data." It usually just means we forgot to update the formula on player data.
How kind of you to color code my tables, Glorious Leader.
It was way easier to look at the potential players in the playoff picture and what not with them colored. It's also a lot easier to do pairings (these are people in the top quarter, these are the people in the bottom, and here are your midranges).

There were a few beginners during this season and looks like a few more are signing up for season 2. So, don't be afraid to sign if you really want to play, cause mostly everyone here is to have fun and help other PA members.
I don't understand why ethersworn canonist is getting such regard for limited(or even mostly constructed block), when most players are only playing one spell per turn anyway.
I would really like to get rid of these cards (which look decent to me but either don't fit in my deck or are the wrong colors) for some jund stuff before my game this week, preferably looking for things that create tokens or creatures with devour but i'm open to any fair offers,
I got an account for this and put together a quick standard deck. It's not much, but at least I have something. I'm really liking this a lot. I wish I had known about it a long time ago.
If anyone wants to beat up on me, my username is ErrorMacro1.

Most ineffecient installer ever. First you download the 600MB installer, and install it. Once it's done it realizes all the files are out of date, and downloads 600MB of updates. Bandwidth, for the loss!
Anyways, it was good to see my cards were still there... But my decks are gone. I had some fun prismatic decks that I wanted to play, need to re-assemble....

What's it mean to be "stizzed"?
And was it Deadshot over Carabid because you only ever intend to cycle so you might as well take the one that could kill your flyers?
Other than that, I'm kinda surprised by Spike in the 2nd pack, though I suppose Chaos' recent draft demonstrated its value. I just think I would've gone Esper Battlemage.

However, eventually he managed to cycle a resounding roar to kill off my defender and waste my branching bolt. I was left with no creatures to his Rhox brute. I might have been able to survive if I drew a creature in time, but he finished me off with Banefire the next turn.

Yeah, I might have mulliganed into Esper at that point. Although you would be passing some good stuff to your left, you'd probably get fed a good amount in pack 3.

Also I have been practicing drafting at CCGDecks.com. Which is fun since I can practice and see all the M10 cards.
