So you might have heard that there's a Magic game for the 360 now. You might have opinions to share on it.
This is not the place for that. You want to be
here for all that kind of thing.
With any competition involving a pre-game choice there will be talk of tiers and advantages. Already this has begun with the 8 pre-con decks presented in Planeswalkers as I have heard that the blue deck is 'wishy-washy and unfocused' whereas the green/black elf deck is comparatively 'rapetown' (All quotes fabricated for illustrational purposes). Usually these arguments are solely based who can whine the loudest and so in the unending playground of the internet they can go on forever. We at PA are better than that! We shall settle the matter once and for all with the twin prongs of 'science' and 'melting faces online' as we find out who is truly the very best like no-one ever was!
Sorry, wrong TcG there, but you get the idea. I propose a sweepstakes tourney whereby 8 good men and true are each randomly assigned one of the in-game decks and then each fight one another until a winner can be declared. Most victories = 'best deck evar', end of story.
Rules suggestions but up for debate:
- Best of three.
- Deck reorganising (such that is allowed in game) is permitted between matches and yes, between rounds in a game if you feel the need and can be quick about it.
- Attempt for minimum two matches a week and we'll hopefully have this settled before the inevitable expansion. Possibly even assign your two 'target opponents' for the week to aid the matchmaking process, though you can of course get any other due games played early if you wish.
So do I have seven other volunteers? First come first serve though if needs be I will put together a reserve list for the inevitable drop-outs. Assuming I get the required numbers then I'll assign decks, give it a week for people to unlock all the sideboard cards and we'll get going.

I have snoozed and lost! But, I can reserve up I suppose.

Actually, take my spot and I'll go reserve. I have a ton of games I've been playing lately and am only like 8 or so matches into the game so far. Having a hard time against the white deck rematch >.> too much lifegain.

Excel's random number function has assigned decks as so:
Jam Warrior - Blue
projectmayhem - Green/Red/White
metaghost - Black
ChaosHat - Green/Black
DeathPrawn - Green/Red/Black
Stryker43 - White
Octobot - Green
Kraterface - Red
Yes, if ever you needed evidence I didn't fix the draw I ended up with the much maligned Blue deck. Best get unlocking those decks and feel free to begin whenever you're ready. I'll start scheduling match ups on Friday if it looks like things need jollying along.
Oh and my XBL tag is Jam Warrior UK
And by friday did you mean the 26th?
At least I get some hard removal.
Yup, but only to assign 'play these people in the next week' so you've got a couple of weeks to prepare. Unlocking the deck won't take more than a moment. Unlocking the full sideboard will take a bit more effort.
Post when you have the full set and people can start hassling you for games.
The one time I played online, I got called a faggot within 5 minutes.
Oh wait. Nevermind then!
