I was more thinking someone's friend speccing an enemy spy, sniper, scout, etc. and sending them steam messages like SPY APPROACHING REAR or ENGI BUILDING SENTRY AT XX
I do a perimeter sweep every night and set up claymores at likely entrance points to my apartment. I double check that my shotgun is loaded and the eight pistols I have secreted about have the safety off and a round in the chamber.
here's a hint: if you guys are walking out of a corridor, make sure you send the medic(s) out first. really, it's your safest bet. this should make sense later.

It just adds another mini-game to playing spy. Knife them and hack their Vent server. Now that is espionage.
I withdraw from the tourney because I would rather not play a game where dead people can call out spies, also, computer problems are being quite annoying, and I have to do some college entrance shit for AP, and Neotokyo has stolen my heart.
We've used vent in all the tourneys, and I've done just fine as spy. Stop whining. There's enough lag and people with slow reaction timing that you can still usually chain backstabs if you normally could.
Are peope really gonna ghost? it seems like a poor sportsmanlike thing to do.
You can't really ghost when all you can spec is other teammates in first person point of view. To really ghost you would have to get a friend to spec and warn you guys of everything, which I don't think is going to be allowed. If it is, I don't think most people would do it.

Whole point of vent is to A) prevent people from listening and tell useful information to your team AFTER you die.
Ever get backstabbed only to watch the spy run straight towards your team, freeze shot of him about to backstab a friendly sniper/heavy? There's a sense of urgency and panic right when you spawn to let everyone know of the rape that is about to unfold. Ya. That's prevented with vent.

Plus Vent is so much more clear. And everyone sounds funny in Vent after getting used to them in Steam voice chat. Especially Tyrannus, you can actually hear the flabs of fat flapping in the wind as he talks.
Listen: We've been having these FPS tournaments for quite some time, even before TF2. While there has been drama in the past, it has to my knowledge never involved ghosting, vent trickery or any such cocksuckery. This tournament hasn't even begun and some of you are already saddling up the Drama Llama. Chill the fuck out. Play the game, mind your own team and everything will work out, I promise.

Spec over to where the enemy team is while dead, pipe in over vent chat, and voila, pretty much ghosting.
I believe there are plug-ins that can prevent that.
IIRC it's something along the lines of only being able to spec team mates in first person view, so you can only see what they see.
