That's like asking heterosexual women this question. Do you see where it is stupid?

obviously you dont understand let me explain with more detail.

if YOU think somthing is disgusting, why would YOU do it. and YOU applys to EVERYONE. its an example. People dont eat shit, its disgusting, why would they do it for pleasure if its not appealing to them?

same with the choice to be gay, if we are all inherntly born straight, then that would mean we all think sex with a man is disgusting, and there wouldnt be too many gays out there.

If you think about it, poking a peehole with a wiener doesn't have any grand aesthetic appeal either.

I don't think those studies take into account the choice that you do have, which is to supress your 'natural' instincts and conform to what society expects of you. So the numbers could be more compelling There are people who make the choice to 'be attracted' to the opposite sex because they don't want the stigma or don't want to admit it. A gay man who gets married and has kids is still deep down a gay man, he's just made the choice to appear as what society defines as normal.

Why would someone who thinks it is disgusting do it? I don't know, maybe they get sexual satisfaction from it. You can still take pleasure from something that revolts and/or disgusts you. Because a large group of people feel or think one way and a small group of people feel another way doesn't make the small groups's thoughts, feelings, and opinions and less real or meaningful.

I think I understand what he's trying to get at here.

If everyone is "straight" by default, and has to make the choice to be gay, and gay sex is disgusting to straight people, then why would anyone make that choice?

They wouldn't, therefore, homosexuals must be different at a fundamental level, rather than straight people simply deciding "Hey, maybe I'll try this thing that kinda grosses me out". I think he's trying to imply what we're all saying, that it's *not* a choice, and that gay people are naturally attracted to the same sex, and not "grossed out" by it.

Not all of us are disgusted by activities that we don't take part in.

For example, I don't find the thought of having unprotected premarital sex disgusting, but I chose not to do so because I didn't want to have kids.

Brokeback Mountain offends me because it's a mediocre romance movie about two guys that fuck up the lives of the people they supposedly love, rather than just a good love story. If it weren't for the gay aspect, it wouldn't have gotten any of the buzz it did.

Kind of an odd way to go about it, but I'm pretty sure we all understand that gays have sex, too. You didn't have to compare it to eating shit sandwiches though.

Also, most people can grasp the difference between biological imperative and choice. The concepts aren't exactly staggeringly complex.

There are quite a few cultures in which same-sex activity is accepted, considered normal, or is even involved in rites of passage. The visceral revulsion some straight men experience when thinking of gay sex seems to have a cultural component.

Having had a "phase" of sexual attraction to males, and some experience, I actually found that I never really "wanted" a guy in the way I do with women, I just enjoyed the sexual aspects.

For instance, seeing an attractive man's face/body never got me excited, although with women, it definitely did.

It was really just about sex with men, and I've never figured out quite why that was.

    Ah well.

I dunno man honestly I got checked for appendicitis one time when I was like 17. It involved getting a finger up the poopchute and it totally brought tears to my eyes and I can't imagine enjoying something that physcially made me feel like that.

I knew a gay kid in college who'd never done what he called "the big one" and was really scared about it. I kind of lost touch with him after a little while so I never got to hear if it was as horrible as he feared or if it turned out okay for him.

I dunno, my wife seems to like it just fine.
Yeah - I've dated a few girls who said they were okay with it too, but I never could bring myself to go through with it.

It's all biology and what you body likes. I mean, we don't ostracize women that like to take it up to pooper, right? Same thing, just with gays the receiver moans in a deeper voice than in an anal-sexing straight couple.
