oh God finding a job is so hard!
Posts
Well the poster that I first replied to said "people have getting laid off left, right and centre all year" so it looks like I was right in this regard.
And right now I am doing better financially than I ever have. Sometimes it's good to be in the minority.
you guys want my resume?
I hope I find something and don't have to go back to cooking food. Although I'd rather flip burgers than sit a desk wearing a tie all day at this point.
are you applying to be a forumer?
if so tip #1 adjust your resume to focus on the skills that would make you a good forumer
also for the love of god and all that is holy, if you have one of those fucking stupid goal/objective... lines. Make sure it reflects that you're applying to be a forumer and not a cowboy space barrista
dibs
I call dibs on it right now
Drool, I know how you feel. I nearly lost my mind right before I moved to Seoul, but I like what I'm doing now so much more than I liked my old job... words can hardly express it.
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
there was some previous... unforeseen outcomes
Because it's FUCKING AWESOME.
I suppose I would be alright with a group interview.
Unlikely. I don't know where you work, though.
sometimes its really hectic and a pain in the ass but then I look out the window and go sweet
Culver City. For a non-profit. Teaching kids video games.
I am so well-adjusted and happy on a day to day basis
bad day at home/work/out and about? just pull someone aside and vent your frustrations on them
Let me just warn you. Don't look the monkey in the eye. When he feels threatened he tosses out vague hypotheticals with no right answers. Best thing to do is just compliment him on his cufflinks and lock eyes with Smiddick
One of the guy's I'm interviewing today said his objective was to "Fulfill the responsibilities and needs of the Job."
I fucking hope so.
That is pretty rad, but I think I like mine better.
braggart
Except during crunch. Then it is slightly less awesome.
damn right
I can't decide if that's worse than people who just copy the job listing requirements as their objectives.
Yeah, they're not doing the best. I don't think full-time jobs are being given to people much anymore.
yeah that's really surprising considering there used to be places in Chicago where you could stand in the doorway of a Starbucks and have line of sight to 2 other Starbucks
"Earn an hourly wage by showing up to work during predesignated 'shifts' at The Job."
The worst is people who leave on for other jobs.
objective: to help your company develop it's technological needs and become a leader in technology
"that's great that you like technology and all, but the position is for a camp counselor"
You have any idea what the rent is on Michigan Ave? You have to sell a lot of fucking lattes to keep a place like that open.
I know it's standard boilerplate stuff but come on
I WANT TO WORK FOR YOU, SO THAT YOU CAN GIVE ME MONEY
I've never understood the requirement. Unless you enjoy being bullshitted or you're testing them on their creative writing ability
That Cafe Descartes managed to stay open, and I was not impressed by their coffee when I tried it. I'm guessing they're a mob front, though. A hipster tourist mob front.
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
it's not a requirement, it's just something stupid people do and I fucking hate when they do it. Sure it makes my job easier when their resume is telling me that they want some other job. I just weep for humanity when so many people like to show me how absolutely stupid they are.
you know, hipster coffee houses, department of transportation, whatever
