Just played a good custom map with Lagnar, Cookies and Raol. Death Aboard, the ship section is especially good even if i have to tilt my head to see it.

The ship section is great, mostly because it mixes things up so nicely.
I thought the final map was a bit over-done, but it was hilarious by any means.
We should get this campaign on more official servers.

yeh the last bit was huge, epic tank noclip though...and when he joined us on the balloon, would have been awesome if it had taken off with him in it
host_timescale is fun. 1 is the normal setting. You get Benny Hill zombies at ~5, and bullet time at ~.05.
What does host_timescale .0001 do, you might ask? I'll tell you when the server starts responding.
Does it effect survivor speed?

LaCabra, you're definately doing it right. Took me a few seconds to realise those weren't official maps. Props, I look forward to when they're complete.

Played Death Aboard with 2 friends. We held out at the place where the radio is except for when the tank would come, then we just headed down the wooden tunnel/bridge.
The game seemed to trip up during the second tank battle since the music that normally plays didn't; all we had was the sounds of our guns, the tank, and whatever else happened to be there. It made the whole thing feel a lot more "real", which was pretty cool.

I noticed that happens if you die and have to restart too.
Not that I've ever died on that map or anything. I'm too good of a player for that.
It's about fucking time. How many zombie games have come out since Shaun of the Dead became a widely loved movie? And not one of them had a cricket bat.
If the game takes place near New Orleans, where the hell are they getting cricket bats? Not to mention the helmet, hat with St. George's Cross, and a shirt that says Australia.
Next melee weapon shown will be a katana, complete with full samurai armor!

Hi my name is Exin and I will take logic over shit being fun any day of the week.

Yes, because in game I'm going to be all like, "Holy shit! This is totally a Shaun of the Dead reference! *Fap fap fap*" and not "The cricket bat is pretty bad and, aside from the skin, doesn't really seem different from any other blunt object".
Well what I'm saying is that they slapped it together as a promo shot and to make fun of australians. The st.george's cross, aus jersey and helmet are just painted in to make it funny. I don't know why they made the bat white though.

Aside from which, the helmet, cross on the cap, and shirt are all shopped. Well, the bat is too but that is going to be in the game.
I still think there are less cricket bats in New Orleans than hockey sticks. Give me a minute to check wiki to confirm.
I'm afraid I fail to see why that's a problem.
The cricket bat's in there largely as a reference. And heck, I can think of far more effective melee weapons than a frying pan, a simple iron bar would do. It's not a question of what's most prevalent or directly "useful" in a given setting, it's a question of what's most fun. There are some limits on that based on the scenario at hand, but they're going for something more playful than straight out reality.

someone made a youtube video stitching together game sounds to make louis and zoe get it on. I am never going to youtube again.
Not terribly work-safe dialogue.

I pretty much had to stop shooting zombies for a couple minutes while I laughed at it the first time. Then I sprayed it.

It effects everything.
Thanks man
Clicky IGN article.
Hah, yeah... don't let Mandalore mess with that setting, or your game is not going to be starting up again any time soon.
That was such a ridiculous match, with 4 admins on, and doing whatever we liked. Guns and health spawning everywhere, but witches and tanks too.
Such fun.

Yeah page 12 has the link.

Not sure why though.

Everything about L4D2 has seemed like some elaborate April Fool's Day hoax.

but they do not seem to be including that
thus, debating the topic is pointless; because, they don't like fun, as shown by the lack of lawn mower
next.
To be fair, they did throw in a lawnmower / braindead reference in the first game, of course melee weapons weren't available then.
Besides, they're throwing in a chainsaw instead, so if it's a choice between having either of those in the game, sorry but chainsaw wins out.
lawn mower > chainsaw
Bruce Campbell disagrees, and that is all that need be said.
