A relative of mine rented the 360 version of L4D but he doesn't have his 360 online so we played a bit of splitscreen.

Holy crap I'm glad I stick to the PC.

Yeah, considering all I've seen in the PC version, I can't possibly begin to imagine playing it on the 360.

Watching a VS match on there must be hilarious

You can find a lot of videos of 360 play on YouTube, and I can agree, I couldn't imagine playing this game on the 360.

Also, when's the guesstimated release time for the patch?

Huh, Guesstimate is an actual word to FireFox, but FireFox isn't a word.

Me? I'm more refering to the fact of playing a twitch based game with a gamepad. Plus a lot of the glitches are already patched out in the PC that are still present in the 360 version. Also, our DLC is free. :D

The Survival Pack is free. The one in the pipe is not. As for playing it on the 360, I've put quite a bit of time into it, and it is a bit disconcerting at first. You do get used it eventually. Auto-aim helps. The Horde moves in predictable patterns, so you don't have look around too much to hit them. Also, keep in mind that everyone is dealing with the same controls.

Just had an awesome, awesome semi-organized Race4Dead.

It was nappucinno, Biosys, and Noisymunk, and I. The campaign was Deathtoll with difficulty at Advanced.

    Simple rules too!
    1. No teamwounding or killing in the saferoom.

    2. Wait for the countdown (counter wait a half second after saying Go to be even with the others).

    3. Help someone in front of you from being smokered or huntered.

    4. If a survivor is in a closet, You have to release them.

I used a scoring system that involves:

1st one to the saferoom gets 4 points. 2nd gets 3, 3rd gets 2, and 4th gets 1. If you die before the saferoom, you get NO points. Haha, don't die next time.

it makes for a surprisingly very fun game.

Protip: Unless you're going to just burn it and run, it is easier to not set the tank on fire in Campaign.

In campaign, setting it on fire makes it faster, deal more damage, and take less damage; and unlike versus, it doesn't actually take damage - it just starts a timer before it dies automatically.

So the only real reason to set it on fire is if you're burning it, running, and waiting for it to burn to death; otherwise, you can kill it really fast just by shooting it to death.

Can I get a link for the more damage / increased resistance part of this?

I assumed Arkan was thinking DPS wise. The tank is moving faster so it punches you more often and you do less damage because you are reduced to pistols when he downs you.

I can't verify the deals-more-damage thing, but I can definitely verify the increased-damage-resistance bit. Going full-out with autoshotties on a tank in expert without burning it killed it in maybe 20 seconds; it took nearly twice as long to kill another tank with autoshotties while it was on fire.

That's strange, it definitely seemed much harder to kill when on fire when I tested it. And not in a "oh it's like one or two hits" way, I mean in a "WHY WON'T IT DIE" way.

In any case, the tank takes an absurdly long time to die to fire in Expert so there really isn't ever a reason to ignite him.

not true- the game can be very bitchy like that. Also, maps like nm2 are great for running the tank in circles in the early stages.

I need to join the chat later tonight and get an invite to the group. I've been mostly pugging it supplemented with a very short friends list

I can handle the occassional griefers and the rage quitters, but not the guys who think they know best and do nothing but bitch.

One guy bitched at everyone but me and I was still getting annoyed. Then when it was only the two of us alive on DA3 or DA4 (can't remember) we had just finished off the tank that killed our 2 teammates and he goes down followed by me being downed due to horde and SI. I was last standing having been revived with no chance to heal and was in the middle of a swarm of CI that I quickly cleared with my auto shot and was then pounced. Round over. When I went down for the final time he bitches that I should have had an assault rifle instead of an auto shotgun because it's better for saving your teammates and you should never be close enough to a tank to benefit from the shotgun. Seriously? You're going to bitch about me choosing the auto shotgun to kill a tank? Wow! After that round I had to rage quit because it was just us two and two bots left on our side and he was still non-stop bitching over mic about how no one is on his level.

I like the submachine gun for tier 1 most of the time and auto shotgun for tier 2, except specific maps like DA Finale and a few others that tend to be wide open areas opposed to mostly close quartered indoor stuff so I then go with the assault rifle. Nothing beats the auto shot for single handedly cutting through a mob of CI humping you from every direction at point blank range, or killing a tank 90% of the time (again the exception being places like DA5 Finale where it's all open and at a distance).

Competent players who aren't SERIOUS BUSINESS make the game so much more enjoyable. I normally play with my fiancee and another couple, but we have to play on normal.
