It's pretty much impossible for me to play spy like I normally do, because that would involve running all over while cloaked and recharging cloak with ammo, both of which are impossible with the C&D.

Why do people keep assuming the C&D is for standing around waiting for a stab? You don't use the normal cloak to do that, you use it to move through areas in which you'd otherwise be killed, so why would the C&D be any different?
I swear, you guys only ever look at one application of any unlock and immediately decide on it based on that criteria. Explore the boundaries, live a little.

once the majority of the C&D using spies stop watching people walk by for five minutes, get a "perfect" stab, wait for five minutes more, etc then i'll stop bandwagoning with the badmouthers

Sometimes I use the cloak and dagger seriously, for when I want to train the other team to give up spychecking or I want to kill a well guarded target and remain in the field. But most of the time I switch to spy when I want to relax and not have to worry about my next move, occasionally stealth capping points as a bonus. During those times I don't really try to be sneaky, so people see a lot of what I do.
Spies are the hardest class to learn from because they have to continually take their targets by surprise, meaning that you'll only really see the strategy that bad spies use.

Honestly, the heavy needs something. So many of the up/sidgrades have been pointed in other directions but pile them all together and the heavy gets hit the hardest.
dispatch from the busy department of bad ideas:
the gatling gun
an antique, hand-cranked minigun from the civil war, borrowed from the badwater museum of presidential history. the cannon wheels have been ripped off and replaced with a big modern ammo barrel.
it's slightly lighter so having it out means the heavy runs a tiny bit faster
the hand-crank means the gatling gun takes longer to begin firing (i unno, anywhere from one and a half to twice as long?) but the start up is much quieter
in addition, the longer you fire or spin the gatling gun, the damage range and accuracy increases until you almost got a solid beam of fuck you
but since it's hand-cranked, the heavy gets really tired of spinning it with his baby crushing hands, so the more you spin it, the slower you get, until you can't move at all at full spin
so basically it's good for defense, shit for assault, but decent for bringing up the rear on 5cp maps or gravelpit or something like that
why: the concept is basically sasha X-TREEM, so the gun up makes you run faster, down makes you not move, but it also has settings/speeds in between so you have more flexibility and the trade off between mobility and killing times is less black-and-white

C&D can be good, but it is much more limited in its usefulness compared to the original watch and DR, and it is easy for noob spies to over use it and waste a lot of time on their team.

i dunno the 4chan servers can be fun and funny
and i'm p sure it's impossible to get rolled as no one is playing the game in the classic sense.

it's that no one has described a playstyle for the C&D that is as or more effective with the normal watch.
some guy says he doesn't feel rushed by cloak drain with the C&D. well, i never feel rushed by cloak drain with the normal watch because ammo is everywhere. memorize ammo placement and that problem is gone.
some guy says he can take his time in getting behind lines, or something. but again, this isn't a problem if you look at whats going on and determine when you can safely run in and get behind them. plus you don't have to stay crouching in a high traffic area hoping that someone doesnt walk into you. getting behind enemy lines isn't supposed to be a long event and you can do it without cloak if youre ballsy.
The C&D is better for escaping (People like myself gun for the closest ammo when a spy disappears) and camping spots that offense always takes or has to take but you can't get to. Sure you can camp around a corner or something, but you have less time to react and wary teams come to suspect corners, or areas near ammo. I remember I got one team on the ropes so much their pyro basically spammed fire around all the ammo boxes, and then took them as he went to the front lines.

Yes, there are two sentries on that cap and a Heavy Medic just came out of their spawn.
Also use it for hiding in not so obvious places. You can cloak with the CnD and just sit in the middle of a room while everyone checks the corners.

Bad spies are bad spies. Cloak and Dagger when used effectively is as potent as any other watch. Dont blame the tools.
