Paranoia Most Useful Watch
High Cloak and Dagger
Average Original Watch
Low Dead Ringer
Status Most Useful Watch
Offense Original Watch
Neutral Dead Ringer
Defense Cloak and Dagger
Of course there are always times when one watch is more useful than another and goes completely against these charts. And there are also the tricky situations such as offense against a very paranoid team. Basically, everybody go correct the hell out of me.
I like when spies try to do that "Actually spying" thing.
Oh, there's two heavies coming up? Cool, I am so glad that we have one less person trying to kill them so in the middle of the fight we can hear about that scout coming out of their spawn. Accidentally finding those people makes me happy, even if I'm just helping the other team.

On the flipside, I played a game of payload and with spies an oversubscribed class, having our only spy call out their disguises well before they reached our lines enabled a dozen people on our team to dominate them over a 10 minute round.

Also, where do I find the rules for TF2 RPG.
I agree somewhat.
The original spy watch is way more useful than the rest.
Damn right. And unlike the normal cloak you can go hide somewhere else near by and repeat.
Yes but it's much more useful to run around invisible, picking up ammo boxes and pieces of metal, than standing invisible not being able to move very much at all.
Then when you backstab someone, it's back to cloaking + duck moving so you don't die.
The original allows you to backstab, cloak right away, take the dead enemy's metal and whatever's around to run away with. Then do a quick disguise and lap and you can run right back into action.
I've done a lot of thinking bout spy and I think the regular cloak is still the best.

I wouldn't even bother with the Dead Ringer if I couldn't disguise as my own team. I can actually use it to get past enemy lines pretty well now by disguising as my own team, taking a couple hits, then whipping out the DR and "dying". It's incredible how often people don't check for spies after hearing DR's uncloaking sound, too.
The only problem is that I've never spent much time as a spy so I don't get much done even after getting behind the enemy team. Yesterday I played some Spy and it was just a waste of time. I could get to a good spot, but either I would have attacks that were clearly in the back do absolutely nothing or somebody would turn a corner at the exact wrong moment and kill me before I could do anything.
In retribution, I ended up switching to heavy and slaughtering many people. Even getting stabbed because nobody is watching your back is less frustrating than dying because the game isn't detecting backstabs properly.
I think it's just that the original watch lets you go on predatorlike killing sprees, stabbing->going invisible->reappearing->stabbing etc.
The adrenaline rush is like woo
Yea plus I can actually spy like watah.
-I'm already invisible before I come around corners
-I don't have to worry about some loud ass sound giving away my position. (this works great with snipers and engys, having to uncloak right around them)
-Infinite amounts of laps with metal and memorizing ammo box spawns.

And yes what lust-re said.
I can still hear the normal Decloak sound sometimes. Its harder to hear than the DR but it's there and it has been the death of many an unfortunate spy.

Probably the case if you play medic all the time and have newb spies uncloaking right behind you.
But yes, I still hear it from time to time and spies get kilt.

Hi5 local reference!
4chan servers scare me. Every time I am about to join I am afraid I am going to be somehow violated.

You should generally be disguised as friendly when hanging out in friendly areas.
open disguise kit > press - > choose class
