Hank Pym is a silly goose, but god help me I love him for it. I honestly don't understand the hatred he gets. I mean yah, he's so chalked full of character flaws for a super-genius that he's almost worse than Reed Richards in the classic example of "the smartest dumb guy", but I don't see how he's that bad.

I don't count the whole "he created Ultron" argument either because that ultimately lead to the creation of The Vision, one of my favorite Avengers of all time. So :P

This has been explained a million times. Among other things, the problem with him is that the universe seems to literally have an erection for him. For Chrissakes, Eternity told him he's the Scientist Supreme...it's just insane.

Unless he's revealed to have been outright delusional during this period, I'll be disappointed.

    Agreed.

Where is Zemo during Siege anyway? This would be the perfect time to bring him back.

Quesada said at a Dark Reign panel last year:
Will Baron Zemo "appear in any books he used to appear in?" Yes. Quesada noted that the original Thunderbolts team will confront the current squad.

Did he show up at all in Diggle's run?

But if The Heroic Age is a reset to Heroes being heroes, and villains being villains, a reformed nazi kind of doesn't fit that template, which would be a real shame.

Wonder if they'll find time to bring back Atlas. Would love to see Scourge kicking ass and then go "Is that a solar eclipse" before being smished by a giant fist.

TLB, do you like Pym because a) you enjoy watching people fail, b) support men beating their wives, c) want to build a killer robot to enslave humanity or d) all of the above? I go with a) since I love seeing people point out that he shouldn't lead the Avengers because "You're. Hank. Pym." or when Reed Richards owned him over the use of Pym Particles. There's also that time he had sex with a robot and modelled his costume after his dead wife and started making everyone call him by her name. Good times, good times.

Hank Pym fails massively because his crippling ego means that he is incapable of believing that he is appreciated and accepted. He is only an effective Hero or Leader when his ego is being flattered and stroked by those around him, but amusingly enough when his ego is sated he is actually pretty good at being the Avengers leader. I love the idea that the other Avengers know this and gently edge him on with flattery in oder to coax out the best he has to offer.

Hank Pym is great to read about because the level of success that he is achieving in the Mighty Avengers is inverse to his massive personality flaws. Also, at some point he will trip and fall and the fallout will be stunning to watch.

Your saying Spider-Man has the same personality flaws as Hank Pym? Spidey has his emotional problems just like everybody else and perhaps more than most but Hank pym is a whole other league.

No Im saying its time for World War Pym with Pym dying at the end, getting all Black Golath'd but White Goliath'd instead. And then you have Stark and Parker to cover the smarts and Pym particles, Reed can make them.

Hey, I wonder where Marvel Boy went. He got those special bands that are supposed to be superior to Captain Marvel's gear plus his base power level was much higher than Mar-Vell. I wodner if he's going to strike in Siege #3 or #4, he did say that he would wait for the perfect time to strike, and his power level is nearly completely unknown (he can fly, he can teleport, he already has enhanced strength, speed, reflexes and a number of crazy-ass abilities, but apart from that we don't know).

I'm a'thinkin' that he's going to arrive and kick some ass.

Cool. Well, I hope that protector turns up then. As far as the costume goes aside from the wierd bug-eyes I don't think that it's unsalvagebly bad, just that Bachalo is very over-rated. Hopefully Coipel will show him looking much better.

I love how he appears to be composed of the universe itself, and yet still has a sidearm complete with holster+the military look going on like Robos points out. It works for me only because it really shouldn't.

I've been watching too much project runway.

Edit: I just read through The Weekly Crisis page linked [enjoyed it btw] and if that is what Marvel Boy looks like now... ew.

Too late to back out now. Besides she's gone from being an ignored grunt with (I think if I remember right) a valid but ignored point to being the second most powerful person in America (I think she has control when Norman isn't around) and gets shit done. She isn't super keen but I think shes quite content to be on the inside rather than out.

On the other hand, she threw her career away with Fury because her conviction that he was going about things the wrong way was so strong. The fact that she's willing to tolerate so much from Osborn is inconsistent with that earlier act, not to mention hard to accept from any essentially good person. If she doesn't betray Osborn, and I believe she might, some explanation for her change of heart ought to be offered.

I know they've shown Damian being fixed up and having organs replaced before, but this really pushes the boundaries on suspension of disbelief, especially with how it's a Bat-family member getting a new spine and the ability to walk again. Did Alfred not think to ask about getting Oracle some help? How can they freely handwave away his being crippled last issue with a 48-hour patch job while no one bothers to help Oracle? I'm not saying Barbara needs to be "fixed" just because she was crippled, but if you are going to introduce such easy outs for other characters, it really just makes Batman and company all look like colossal dicks for not helping her after all these years.

actually, i believe barbera has refused any super-science treatment for her injuries on the basis that she won't be cured just because she has powerful friends. until a cure is available for all, she stays in the chair.

damien, of course, has no such scruples.

Cant even wiki it for details Ive forgotten, I cant remmeber why Hand left SHIELD but I think it was because she saw a threat that did come that Fury ignored, I think she was trying to protect America and while Norman is nuts, she has the power to dish out punishment and put people away permanently.

Plus the whole power corrupts thing.
