Thank god someone knows Wookiee has two Es. Was about to nerdrage up in here.
I just spelled it like I saw it. The proper spelling of fictional races never concerned me much.

...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.

So if droids are in, I hope it's possible to get some proverbially kickass frames.
So I can make this happen in glorious 3d:

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.
Warframe/Steam: NFyt
At this point we only know droids are in as companions.
I'm really hoping that the Jedi/Sith are just two classes and not four and that droid will be the fouth class for each side but we don't really have anything to confirm that afaik

I was hoping droid would be a race and not a class because a droid bounty hunter would be kick ass.

Yeah, tell me with a straight face that they'd make droid jedi in TOR based off that.
It's not like the Iron Knights are the only force using Jedi droids. Skippy the Jedi Droid. Enough said.
For a while, 4-LOM had aspirations of learning the ways of the force.
Depending on how far you want to stretch things, General Grievous had many abilities on par with a Jedi, just by virtue of his construction. He could jump considerable distances, had super-human reflexes, and could wield multiple lightsabers effectively.
Yes, it'd be a stupid thing to go to such lengths just to add a Jedi droid in the game. On the other hand, the Star Wars setting is no stranger to stupid things.
So were the Iron Knights. They weren't really droids.
They were sentient crystals, I'm sure arguing the case is fun as it's olol the internets after all but it's pretty easy to draw the line between one being silly and the other not.
Well, if they made droids a race why would they have to allow it as a playable race for the jedi classes?
I would really prefer that droid be an actual class thet lets you choose from various models of droids as your race and then have like Defense droid for Republic and Assassin/Battle droid for Sith.

Hey, I'm on your side, Force droids are dumb. Even when they're technically living creatures.
I guess what I'm saying is that dumbness of Force-users directly correlates with their droidiness. Grievous is about 40% dumb.

Ha ha fair enough. Anakin was about 98% dumb even before he got all his droid bits and pieces. I guess that could have been some force prediction of sorts though :P

Cool. If I kill one, can I put it in my lightsaber?
I would imagine at the least something similar to WoW's race/class setup, where only certain races can be certain classes.
That said, I would certainly approve of a Droid class, or even a Tech Specialist fourth class that had droid as a playable race. The former is probably more likely, and would be preferable to me.
A playable droid race might actually get me to buy this game. Maybe. If the combat and quest content isn't actually as dull as the derivative crap in those class preview videos.

Wow.
I will give him this:
As we have previously discussed, the combat seems a bit... slow. Like an MMO. Like World of Warcraft. The exception, imo, is the Sith Warrior. But the Bounty Hunter and the Smuggler especially seem very slow and, I'm sorry to say it, dull. No one where in Star Wars do you see two soldiers standing 5 feet apart shooting and hitting eachother repeatedly with blasters for 20 seconds.
And as far as the quest content, the pacing of the "cutscenes" was indeed a little off. It was slow. It felt more like a bunch of college theater students sitting around a table reading a script aloud for the first time rather than seasoned actors playing characters in a movie.
That being said, it's better than every other MMO and RPG I've ever seen, ever.
Well I think you need to take developer walkthroughs with a pinch of salt. Ok the guy was standing there during the bounty hunter play through but you know your average gamer is going to be side strafing and bunnyhopping like a loon because that's just what peopel do.
Will that be more interesting is up to the player but it hasn't stopped people doing that kind of crap in other games so it wouldn't suprise me if people dervie (hoho) more enjoyment form the game that way.

Hanharr was supposed to be a Dark Jedi in Kotor II.
LucasArts said no.
If there is one thing I hate about Star Wars, it's the whole planet of hats deal.
That's dumb. Chewbacca was an expert engineer.

And how is a droid jedi going to work?

GAINED CLASS FEAT: SHORT CIRCUIT - Deal 40 mechanical repair points but create 10 points of computer damage. 20 second cooldown.
Be honest. You want to be an astromech droid so you can go around fucking weird and exotic computer main frames with your "probe"
R2 was a pimp.

Favorite character I ever played in the PnP game was a B1 worker doid that appeared stock but was actually very heavily modified.
The year?
1976.
The system?
Atari.
The game?
Pong.
The response?
Wtf! A shitty version of tennis? What a fucking derivative piece of shit!
Poor boy just ain't been right since. :P

oh no guy who doesn't like mmo's talking about playing mmo's. (this is fun)
Seriously though, the game will be more fun and less derivative when you are wearing your 3D goggles and power glove.
