The only vocalist that comes to mind that is better than Cornell is Freddie Mercury. Guy is a god damned legend.

I'm just sayin, ive seen him live (never with ratm though, that is just too much douchery) and the guy seemed pretty legit. i mean if using feedback is gimmicky then i guess hendrix was too.

I don't necessarily think Morello is nothing but gimmicks, in fact he's pretty creative and innovative, I just think he never, ever needs to be forced into obligatory guitar solos because he is apparently incapable of making a decent one.

i hate so much the obligatory solo consisting of the melody from the chorus only done on guitar

you're sitting in a studio for christ's sake

at least think of something and have them studio magic it up if you can't play it

don't just put a fucking solo in the song for the sake of putting a solo in the song

True, but it didn't make him "headlining" anymore ridiculous. I kept trying to convince the people I came with we should have left during his set.

It was funny both my father and myself saw Ozzy play live during our 20's (my father is almost 58).

I don't think it's selling your soul to appear in commercials. It's lots of money for little work- it permits you to pursue your own interests, ballasted by money. It's a sweet gig, overall. I wish I commanded the fame to 'sell out' for monetary gain. :)

At least for Gene Simmons it's not as hypocritical. He always has been and always will be a more poppy rock star than the dark, angry hippies that made up Sabbath at the beginning.
