Been having a problem with my Macbook and I don't have an convenient Apple stores to have it checked out at. Hopefully some stray genious in here can help diagnose its ailment.
1. The issue was likely caused by being dropped.
2. Many times when turning on power the disk drive won't spin up. This always means it won't boot but stays frozen with a black screen and the little power light on.
3. Repositioning the macbook or refitting the battery (which seems to want to stick out just a hair) can usually fix the won't boot issue with a couple tries.
4. Once booted if the macbook is moved it will likely freeze or reboot. Sometimes it will do this even if it isn't moved.
5. It will do these things (freezing and rebooting) whether I boot into OSX or Windows XP.
Any thoughts? When it DOES work everything works perfectly.
It pisses me off that I have to make an appointment and drive 40 min to the Apple store to MAYBE get help with it.
