Let's see, we've got Earth X #1, Captain America: Reborn #1, and Sensational Spider-Man #28. Interesting.
Earth X is great but dark, and we've seen a lot of very similar stories in the years since it came out. Reborn is the worst Cap story Brubaker did. Sensational Spider-Man #28 was a really fun issue dealing with Spidey revealing his identity and the students he was teaching.
So Comixology is having a sale on The Authority vol. 1 and 2. Are both of these worth reading? Just vol. 1? I do like me some Ellis.
As far as The Authority goes, I would really only recommend the first 12 issues. That was the original, Ellis-written run. It has a natural ending point at the end of issue 12, it's very consistent in quality (of course, given it's one single creative team), and it has great moments, characters, and storytelling. It's really one of my favorite comic series.
After that, it's kind of all over the place. I've read almost all Authority comics, and I'll put it this way: there are many good character, story, and action moments after the initial 12 issues, but it's probably not worth slogging through the bad parts to get to the good parts.
I will tell you this: in the series where Jack Hawksmoor became the president of the U.S., there's an amazing moment where he's perched on a dumpster in an alleyway, having just come upon a bunch of men who are about to rape a woman. They ask something along the lines of "Who are you?", and he growls "I'm the fucking President" as he leaps at them to do them great bodily harm. That moment was pretty boss.

Mark Millar took over after Ellis, and, well, it shows.
As for the Marvel free stuff, I've really been digging it. I've been tuning in every week and grabbing whatever catches my attention, and they've been doing a pretty good job as a drug dealer. First hit is free, but after that.....
The Millar run is still good if you like the kind of comics Millar is writing now - it almost reads like a prototype for his newer stuff like Nemesis and Superior.
If you skip those, there are still some good non-Ellis arcs of Authority - Brubaker's book was good, and Abbnett/Lanning did a good storyline about the Authority getting really humbled post-apocalypse.
Keith Giffen's mini-series was based on unused Grant Morrison Authority scripts, and was pretty fun too. Christos Gage wrote a run of the Authority that is really awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it unless your familiar with the overall Wildstorm universe.
Really, the only Authority stuff that is really bad was the Robbie Morrison issues.
And in trade form. No, I don't have a problem, I can quit anytime I want (which is never).
But still, it's good stuff. Everyone buy!
And while it's not reflected in the sale, there's also several FCBD issues for free you can dig up as well. So buy all the volumes, then grab all the FCBD stuff, and you'll be golden.
Very tempting sale, and it'd be right to buy it all up as repentance for skipping the Chew sale, but no. I've spent too much on comics since the Gaiman Marvel sale. Going to exercise some restraint and pawhat?...how the hell did that happen?
Personally, I've enjoyed all of the Atomic Robo volumes so far. I think some folks might've not been as keen on volume 2 (WWII stuff), but I thought it was pretty enjoyable.
edit: oh, and buying and reading now will get you ready for the upcoming volume 7, Flying She-Devils of the Pacific. I think that one starts next week or so?
Give them a few minutes, their servers tend to get bogged down on Wednesday mornings.
Actually the issue for me is when I'm done checking out, the books I bought magically disappear. I've done this twice so far and have received two electronic receipts for the same books. Needless to say if my credit card is charged for both purchases the website will receive a very irritated but polite email from me.
So, there's a group of creators trying to start a new, digital comics website, Artist Alley Comics, and they currently have a selection of free samples available for download.
I think Annie Ammo and Kill All Monsters! show the most promise. Kyrra: Alien Jungle Girl is really well-drawn, and seems like an interesting world, that I'd like to see more of. MonstHer is kind of cute, and well drawn, but light on story. Red Vengeance felt like pretty generic superhero fare.
I'm definitely intrigued, and always in favor of creators who go the Double Feature Comics route, of selling .PDF files, for download.
I'm feeling a bit relieved that I didn't buy everything from the Atomic Robo sale this past week. I bought volume one, finished it over the course of the last few days, and I found it dull. I can see why people like it, and I can certainly see the potential, but the writing left me pretty flat. I just didn't find it as funny as everyone else seems to, having managed only a couple decent chuckles throughout, and without the humor the plot and writing just felt meh. Reading around gave me the general impression that volume 2 is about on par with volume 1, which convinced to give up on it for now. I'm not prepared to completely write off the series yet, but I don't think I can muster up more than one more go at it. I'm hoping I simply wasn't in the right mood or frame of mind for it, and that it'll click later on.
Cracked and grabbed Final Crisis since its on sale. Feels like one of those things that I should probably give a read just to know how things went. Figure its got to be worth $6. Also grabbed my four missing volumes of Atomic Robo while that sale was going. It feels good to have a backlog again.
Now I just want a sale on Ultimate Spider-Man or War of the Supermen.
Definitely! There is some great stuff in there, and the rest of it is pretty okay. I've read everything in there except Hoax Hunters, and can recommend them all at that price, except for Heart.
Amazing Spider-Man one day sale just went up. Everything from #600 to right before Big Time. I've been waiting for this, granted the timing is absolutely awful financially. Aw well.

Bunch of other DC stuff on sale for Father's Day weekend, but I don't know what all is worth picking up aside from AS Superman (only #6 is on sale).
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic
I'll be buying absolutely everything then.
Though, I'm having a hard time figuring out whats actually on sale. Some of these prices didn't change, since they were $1 already.

More than likely if you get double charged, just contact their support and they'll fix it.

Would anyone recommend that trade for $19.99?
I've only gotten one of the books in there, Secret, and it didn't do anything for me but twenty #1's seems like a good deal.

If nothing else, try Saga, Manhattan Projects, Danger Club, Dancer, Mudman, Grim Leaper, Fatale, Heart, and Hell Yeah, in that order.
