I bought 2 or 3 of the first 4-issue run of Rocketeer Adventures in print, and I think they're awesome. Four bucks for an anthology of Rocketeer stories and pinups from some amazing writers and artists is a Hell of a better value than most $4 Marvel digital comics. So I imagine the second run is also good.
And, yeah, Cargo of Doom is Waid and Samnee. How can you not? I wonder why it's not available as a collection.
the Greg Land parts are a bummer of course, but Fraction's run is really underrated, and that era also includes the wonderful Breakworld sequel by Kieron Gillen

The good news is I pretty much got ALL of the digital downloads... The bad news is I exceeded my bandwidth of 2 gigs on my phone and am now paying in excess of 200$ on my next bill... WHOOPS
I think I'm going to write comixology and tell them they really need to switch off the automatic download feature.
526-529 is also a highlight (The Five Lights storyline)
504-507 is good as well.
And none of those have Land art even!
I really like Utopia but it's hard to recommend it without the Dark Avengers issues also being on sale, I liked all of Nation X not just 518-519. Second Coming is good too but again it's a crossover so the other issues aren't on sale.

Half off sale on Johnathan Hickman Image stuff. That Test Pattern collection sounds like it might be a pretty nice deal as it collects the individual titles and is $2 cheaper than buying everything separately. I'm not at all familiar with any of the stuff in the sale though, so I can't make any judgments.

Nightly News was the first Hickman thing I read, and it was really interesting at the time. Now it seems like the media caught up to it.
I'd recommend getting the whole collection. I haven't read Red Mass for Mars, but if you like Manhattan Projects you will probably like Red Wing.
So...I completely missed that Brian K. Vaughan had another project in the works with Marcos Martin, but some new teaser images popped up today. EXCITED.
It is out, at Panel Syndicate, with the pay whatever you want price model.
Welcome to Panel Syndicate, where artist Marcos Martin and writer Brian K. Vaughan deliver original comics directly to readers around the world, who pay whatever the hell they want for each DRM-free issue. Our first new storyline is THE PRIVATE EYE, a forward-looking mystery we created with colorist Muntsa Vicente. Set in a future where privacy is considered a sacred right and everyone has a secret identity, The Private Eye is a serialized sci-fi detective story for mature readers. You can download our 32-page first issue right now, for any price you think is fair. 100% of your payments go directly into our greedy mitts and will help fund the rest of a story that we're both very proud of (we hope there will be around 10 issues total; an old-school "maxiseries!"), so thanks for reading...
+1

As of now I think it's working. I'm really excited to see bigger name creators jump onto this boat.
I seriously hope Vaughan and Martin make a boatload of cash off this, and inspire other creators to do the same thing.
Also, the comic itself is pretty damn awesome. It's very dense, throwing you into a weird world without much setup or explanation, leaving you to connect the dots. Martin's art is gorgeous, naturally, and Vaughan's dialogue is just as sharp as ever.
Yeah dudes it sucks but I can't really be too angry because it's 100% my fault for not thinking. I've switched my cellular data of for the time being. Is there any other way to make sure that your comics are downloading via wifi on the iPhone? Like does the comixology app have a function for it?
Speaking of which, when the heck are they gonna put the 700 issues back up? I'm going to be gone all next week, so my Spidey-Sense says it'll be then. :P
Ming Doyle drew GotG Infinity #2, a Rocket Raccoon solo story, and Bendis writing aside it is g-d beautiful and perfectly exploits Comixology's guided view function to tell the story, which was a pleasant surprise.
So you should pick it up. It's free. I haven't read #1 yet, actually, but it's a Drax story drawn by Michael Avon Oeming.
The first one wasn't bad, but this was way better. It definitely sold me on this way of doing comics in a way that neither the first issue or Insufferable has managed before.
Looks like Comixology updated their android apps. Now you can sort by series, genre, or creator. Also delete comics in your library without having to go to settings.

a bunch of those issues were drawn by the Dodsons

Ouch.
Most expensive sale yet?

Avengers Assemble #1, by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley
Deadpool Team-Up #899, by Fred Van Lente and Dalibor Talajic
Invincible Iron Man #7, by Matt Fraction and Salvador Larocca
Gravity #1, by Sean McKeever and Mike Norton
Also, holy shit, Brian Vaughan and Marcos Martin are doing it right; pay what you want for their DRM-free new comic, Private Eye.
Unfortunately, their PayPal seems to be broken. I really hope it's because they received too many transactions, too quickly.

Then the comic itself was totally worth it anyway

Also supporting these guys without a doubt, but I can't download anything. Gonna have to wait
